Tuesday, beloved Chicago Fire dog, dies: 'Love you, sweet girl'

The Chicago Fire family has lost one of its own.

Beloved Dalmatian Tuesday, who was first introduced to the NBC drama on season 7, died Sunday following complications from "unforeseen kidney issues," according to an Instagram post from the animal actor's trainer, Christine Mahaney.

"The love from you, Tuesday's fans, over the past 4 years has been immense," the post continued. "Allowing her into your homes and hearts will forever be cherished. Tuesday loved working on set and being a part of the Chicago Fire family.  Her tail never stopped wagging. She truly was very special."

Tuesday made her Chicago Fire debut in season 7, after her owner, Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri), introduced her to his fellow firefighters.

Following the news of Tuesday's death, Kyri shared memories of their time together in an Instagram Story, including a video of them performing a "secret handshake" on a break from filming.

"Love you, sweet girl," Kyri wrote alongside his posts.
