Tucker Carlson thinks charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped because he knows the Obamas and Kamala Harris

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has a theory for why charges were dropped against Empire actor Jussie Smollett, which he discussed on his show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, on Tuesday. While chatting with Kevin Graham, president of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, Carlson called the whole situation a “travesty.” “It looks to us from outside Chicago looking in that this was just a pure political deal. Somebody called somebody else, everybody here's connected,” Carlson said. “Smollett knows people, he knows the Obamas, he knows Kamala Harris, and he somehow pulled strings to get out underneath these charges.” Graham agreed with Carlson, calling the decision a “disgrace” to the police officers that worked on the case. And some viewers on Twitter, including actor James Woods, agreed as well.

But others were quick to refute Carlson’s claims, drawing comparisons to President Trump and, of course, dropping in some sarcasm as well.

Carlson went on to say that he thinks Smollett is above the law and questioned where the accountability in the legal system is.“Smollett isn't getting off because he is innocent. He is not an innocent,” Carlson said. “He is something better than innocent. He's famous.”Tucker Carlson Tonight airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on Fox News.Check out what happened when Fox News host Laura Ingraham criticized some NYU teachers:
