Knoxville-area high school football roundup for the Division I semifinals of TSSAA playoffs

Two Knoxville area football teams advanced to the state championship games in Chattanooga next week. Here's a look at what happened during the Division I semifinal round of the TSSAA playoffs on Friday night.

Oakland 24, Maryville 14: Maryville's 22-year streak of home playoff wins was snapped behind 151 rushing yards on 30 carries from Oakland running back Jordan James in Class 6A. Maryville quarterback Carson Jones was held to just 58 yards passing, and he also recorded 53 rushing yards and two rushing TDs.

Alcoa 42, Giles County 12: Caden Buckles was 12-of-15 passing for 238 yards and a touchdown, plus 56 rushing yards in Class 3A. Jordan Harris recorded 72 receiving yards, 48 rushing yards and a touchdown. Elijah Cannon had two rushing TDs, Itty Salter had one and Isaiah Bryant added a receiving TD.

Powell 35, West 7: Jordyn Potts was 14-of-21 passing for 150 yards and a touchdown, and he added two rushing touchdowns in Class 5A. Ayden Greene had 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns on six catches, and Jarvis Stockton added 70 rushing yards and a TD.
