Looking for something to do in the Erie area? Here are some of this week's Best Bets from Thursday through Nov. 8:

Peek'n Peak's yearly Wurst Party Ever

Peek'n Peak Resort, 1405 Olde Road, Clymer, New York, is hosting a German beerfest Saturday featuring beer tastings from 40 craft brewers from 5 to 9 p.m.

The party will take place in the Main Lodge from 5 to 9 p.m. and tickets will get you unlimited tastings, refillable souvenir beer steins eight food tickets and music by a 26-member German band from Buffalo’s German-American Musicians Association.

Guests can redeem their food tickets for cuisine such as bratwurst and kraut, Bavarian cheddar soup, German potato salad, and a dessert choice of German chocolate cake or apple cinnamon strudel.

The event will include a German keg tapping ceremony, traditional dances and group cheers. Tickets for the Wurst Party Ever are available for purchase at www.pknpk.com.

After the party, Bistro 210 will offer a DJ, dancing, and German costume contest. Stay the night and enjoy a German breakfast buffet in Bistro 210, including a Bloody Mary bar and more German beer.

Artisphere at City Gallery

City Gallery, 1503 State St., will host a fundraiser to support after-school and summer arts education at the Dafmark Creative Arts Center. The program is designed to serve youth who live in public housing.

The event runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Entry is free. Youth artists will be available to meet and speak about their work, and there will be live music by Anthony Carson, as well as hors d'oeuvres by The Que Abides and Cafe 7-10. Half the proceeds from each sale will go directly to the youth artist.

'The Convent' from Dramashop

Dramashop will present "The Convent," by Jessica Dickey on Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at 1001 State St., suite 210. The play focuses on a group of women who go on a retreat to live like nuns in the Middle Ages and are baptized with '80s pop, female mysticism, hallucinogens and sex. The show is a toothy, dark comedy about desire, devotion, and the mystery of intrinsic divinity.

PACA presents 'Spike Heels'

"Spike Heels" is a play by Theresa Rebeck and directed by K.C. McCloskey that explores the complexities of friendship, love, sex and harassment, along with themes of power, gender and the treatment and control of women in the workplace. The combatants are a sexy, volatile young woman and three Back Bay types: a writer, a lawyer, and a fiancée in sensible shoes. The setting is Boston, the ending is happy, and laughter abounds.

It runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at PACA, 1505 State St. Tickets are $20 and available at paca1505.org/tickets.

Kellar's presents Bobcat Goldthwait

Comedian Bobcat Goldthwait will play Kellar's: Modern Magic and Comedy Club, 1402 State St., on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.

The longtime comedian riffs on politics, divorce, and his career as an actor, writer and director of films. Since his first appearance on David Letterman at the age of 20, Bobcat has directed movies and shared his behind-the-camera talents on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “The Demetri Martin show,” “The Chappelle Show,” “The Man Show,” “Maron” and “Crank Yankers.” Best known for his unforgettable '80s movies, including the "Police Academy" series, Goldthwait has also starred in several HBO specials.
