TruTV Orders Lifestyle Reality Series With ‘Insecure’ Showrunner Prentice Penny
TruTV has ordered 12 episodes of Upscale With Prentice Penny, a lifestyle reality series helmed and hosted by the Insecure showrunner, writer and producer for premiere in 2017.
Created by Penny with DEFY Media’s Chris Pollack and Jared Hoffman,each half-hour episode features Penny exploring what it takes to lead an upscale life with topics ranging from food and wine to travel and fashion.
The series marks a new chapter for Penny in front of the camera as the show’s host. He currently serves as showrunner for HBO’s new comedy Insecure. A seasoned television writer, Penny’s past credits include Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, ABC’s Happy Endings, and UPN’s comedy Girlfriends. He also created and executive produced Fuse Network’s The Hustle.
Upscale with Prentice Penny is executive produced by Penny, Pollack and Hoffman, alongside James Moore. Penny is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson, and DEFY Media is repped by WME.
