A violent video depicting President Donald Trump brutally murdering members of the media, including Kathy Griffin, has people calling for CNN to rehire the comedian for it's NYE special with Anderson Cooper.
The video, shown last week at a three-day conference at the Trump National Doral Miami, shows Trump committing a mass shooting inside a church.
CNN Fires Griffin
Several of President Trump's critics including Rosie O'Donnell and Kathy Griffin are amongst those murdered.
In a landslide of support for the comedian, many took to Twitter to demand Griffin be given her job back at CNN.
Kathy was fired from the network, after many years of success, doing its coverage of New Year's Eve from Times Square.
The firing came after Griffin took part in a photoshoot where she depicted the beheading of Donald Trump.
The Trump Video
"It’s officially Monday, and I saw the #TrumpVideo which depicts him shooting media folks...Hey, CNN. I want Kathy Griffin back live with Anderson Cooper for New Year’s," one person tweeted.
Others agreed with the sentiment, "Hey @CNN I second this. I want Kathy Griffin back for New Year's. It hasn't been the same without her."
Get Her Back!
Anderson Cooper famously did not support Griffin when conservatives rallied to have her fired from CNN, instead choosing to go public condemning the photo.
So not only do people want Kathy back on the air, they want Anderson pushed out too!
"They should fire Anderson & Andy, then hire Kathy to do it alone!" one person tweeted.
White House Denounces Video
Many simply see this as vindication for Griffin and pointing out just how disgusting the parody video is...
"What happened to Kathy Griffin was bulls**t and she’s being more vindicated by the day." one person said.
Another tweeted, "Kathy Griffin holds up a fake head, conservatives go apoplectic, trump causes people to be ACTUALLY beheaded, conservatives stare at their laces."
A White House spokesperson said, "That video was not produced by the campaign, and we do not condone violence."
This Is NO Joke
Griffen addressed the situation Sunday, saying, “I’m depicted as being murdered by The President of the United States in this video, The left, right & center left me hanging out to dry regarding the Trump mask photo. Please don’t let it happen again. No, this video isn’t a joke to his followers. And it will not be taken as such.”
'Vile and Horrific'
CNN also denounced the video, “Sadly, this is not the first time that supporters of the president have promoted violence against the media in a video they apparently find entertaining — but it is by far and away the worst...The images depicted are vile and horrific. The president and his family, the White House and the Trump campaign need to denounce it immediately in the strongest possible terms. Anything less equates to a tacit endorsement of violence and should not be tolerated by anyone.”
