Wednesday marked the start of the public hearings into President Trump’s impeachment inquiry, with William Taylor, the acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, and State Department official George Kent offering testimony before the House Intelligence Committee. The two diplomats’ statements about Trump’s dealings with Ukraine received wall-to-wall coverage, and the famous figures tuning in — on both side of the political aisle — couldn’t resist sharing their reactions.
Taylor spoke about the impact of a delay in U.S. aid to the country, saying, “More Ukrainians would undoubtedly die without security assistance.” His testimony struck a chord with actress Yvette Nicole Brown and journalist Maria Shriver, while Alyssa Milano called the scenario “disgusting.”

That’s it. End of story.
Trumpsters, this is disgusting.
How are you still supporting this man?!#ImpeachmentHearings
It is 💔ing to realize how hard Ambassador Taylor was fighting to get aid to Ukraine.— yvette nicole brown (@YNB) November 13, 2019
He was drawn into this Trump bribery scandal against his will.
He knew people were dying and are STILL dying over a corrupt, political mess begun by YOUR “president” #ImpeachmentHearings
Now think of @RudyGiuliani. Now think about why he needs irregular channels. It’s because he is doing irregular stuff. It’s simple. Let’s not get caught up in spin. Let’s focus on clarity. #ImpeachmentHearings— Maria Shriver (@mariashriver) November 13, 2019
People try and confuse the truth when they don’t want you to know the truth. It’s called gaslighting. Focus yourself on the testimonies, then leave and take a walk. You know. #ImpeachmentHearings— Maria Shriver (@mariashriver) November 13, 2019
Rosie O’Donnell, an outspoken Trump critic, called Taylor a “patriot” and shared the hashtag “#FireThePresident.”
Padma Lakshmi, meanwhile, shared a meme of herself that made her stance clear. She also fired back at a commenter who complained about her political post.
“Unfollowing due to political posts,” he wrote. “Not even a Trump supporter, but so tired of everything being politically charged.”
“Everything is political and if you don’t think it affects you, you’re part of the problem,” the Top Chef host responded.
Other stars voiced support for the impeachment investigation, with former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Chris Meloni tweeting, “Our president is a traitor.”

mere citizens. And the higher the office perhaps even the higher the standard. But it seems the person who holds the highest office in our country is held to no standard at all.#impeach
Trump did have his supporters, however. Conservative game show host Chuck Woolery called the proceedings the “greatest farce on Earth,” a sentiment echoed by actors Antonio Sabato, Jr., Kevin Sorbo, Kristy Swanson and Nick Searcy.
The far left politicians care more about power and corruption then you and I and the rest of the country. #KAG2020 🇺🇸— Antonio Sabáto Jr 🇺🇸 (@AntonioSabatoJr) November 13, 2019
Breaking: the Democrats can’t read the manuscript, in that case go back to the capital basement and please stay there instead of wasting money, time and energy on something that was fabricated by all of you on the far left Socialist Democrat Party. #ImpeachmentHoax 🇺🇸— Antonio Sabáto Jr 🇺🇸 (@AntonioSabatoJr) November 13, 2019

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham also weighed in, calling the hearing a “sham” and “boring.”
This sham hearing is not only boring, it is a colossal waste of taxpayer time & money. Congress should be working on passing USMCA, funding our govt & military, working on reduced drug pricing & so much more. @realDonaldTrump is working right now-the dems should follow his lead!— Stephanie Grisham (@PressSec) November 13, 2019
