President Donald Trump took a victory dance on Tuesday after Democrats voted to reopen the U.S government yesterday. In a tweet, he offered a backhanded compliment to his frequent sparring partner, CNN’s Jim Acosta.
“Even Crazy Jim Acosta of Fake News CNN agrees: “Trump World and WH sources dancing in end zone,” said Trump. “Trump wins again…Schumer and Dems caved…gambled and lost.” Thank you for your honesty Jim!”

Trump’s jab appears to be a reference to this tweet from Acosta yesterday. The recently promoted CNN Chief White House correspondent has been something of a shutdown poet — at one point on air saying the whole chain of events was analogous to the infamous “Tide Pod Challenge”

The Acosta view was rapidly shaping up to be the general bipartisan consensus on late Monday and Tuesday. The Democratic vote to reopen the government came without any real new guarantees on DACA.
While the deal to reopen operations did include CHIP funding — a Democratic priority, Washington Free Beacon Managing Editor David Rutz pointed out that CHIP funding had been in an original funding bill voted down by Democrats on Friday.
Democratic demands on DACA and the many of the broader issues of immigration remain unresolved for both sides.
Pretty sure if you watched @JoeNBC and @Morning_Joe today and didn't know better, you'd think Democrats got CHIP funding added over the weekend as leverage to stop shutdown, when it was actually in the bill Dems voted down on Friday!
