Troy Gentry's widow fulfills late husband's promise to daughter at 2017 CMAs

At the 2017 CMA Awards on Wednesday night, late country singer Troy Gentry's widow and daughter stepped out in honor of the man they lost just two months ago.

Angie Gentry and daughter Kaylee were the epitome of strength and beauty at country music's biggest night, where they walked the red carpet together and got emotional over an all-star tribute to Troy during the show.

Gentry -- one half of country duo Montgomery Gentry -- lost his life in a helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey at the age of 50 on September 8. Before he died, the singer had reportedly promised his 15-year-old daughter that he would take her to her first award show this year. Though he tragically didn't get to fulfill that promise, his widow was able to make it happen.

Angie was stunning in a sleeveless plum gown, while Kaylee looked like a total princess in a royal blue dress with a diamond choker.

During the actual award show, Troy Gentry was honored during an emotional tribute performance by former bandmate Eddie Montgomery and Rascal Flatts and the rousing performance had Angie wiping away tears in the audience Watch the moment in the video at the top of the page.
