Tropical downpours to continue ahead of Independence Day weekend

We’re in for another sea breeze storms-kinda-day. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking temperatures near 90 degrees with high humidity.

The sea breeze will push over the coast & I-95 midday today, bringing a few storms. Heavy storms will get going this afternoon & evening well inland.

Storms mainly push inland again on Thursday, but the sea breeze slows down a bit Friday & Saturday. That means wetter weather will be in store for I-95 and the Jax metro.

Monday, July Fourth, doesn’t look as wet, but there will still be a few storms around during the day.

By the end of the weekend, most neighborhoods will have seen at least some much-needed rainfall.

TROPICS: 1) thunderstorms in the Western Gulf are trying to get their act together and will track toward the Texas Gulf Coast the next couple of days. Regardless of development, this thing won’t impact Florida. 2) A tropical disturbance in the Southern Caribbean is scraping by Venezuela today. Expectations are this becomes the first hurricane of the season as it moves toward Central America. This one won’t impact the U.S. 3) A tropical wave in the Central Atlantic may make a move up toward the Bahamas next week. We need to monitor this one, but it’s only a potential player for the U.S. in the long-term.
