Tristan Thompson wants to make it right with the Kardashians after everything that happened with Khloé.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Kardashians, the NBA star, 32, had an earnest talk with Kylie Jenner about how his tryst with her best friend Jordyn Woods while he was dating her sister Khloé Kardashian ultimately caused a lot of harm to their family that he wants to repair.

Speaking to how cheating on the Good American founder, 39, impacted the other members of the Kar-Jenner clan, Thompson acknowledged to Jenner, 26, how she was “affected the most because [she was] losing a sister basically.”

“You lost Jordyn who was a big part of your life. I know how much she meant to your life," he added.

Thompson also recognized that his decision to start something with the 26-year-old model “wasn’t right, wasn’t smart” and apologized to the Khy founder for making her decide between her sister and best friend.

Back in 2019, when the pro athlete was in a relationship with Kardashian, reports surfaced in February that year that he had cheated with Woods. A month later, Woods claimed in a tell-all interview that they never had sex, but she shared that Thompson did kiss her at an afterparty at his house at that time. The tryst consequently ended Jenner’s once-close relationship with Woods.

However, Jenner confirmed to Thompson on Wednesday’s episode that the two had recently patched things up. She also noted that she and Woods needed that time apart so they had the “space to grow individually” because she felt they were “co-dependent” back then.

While Kardashian and Thompson were able to reconcile their relationship, it was revealed in December 2021 that he had fathered a child with another woman during the time he and Kardashian were expecting the arrival of their second child together, son Tatum, who was born in August 2022 via surrogate. The two also share daughter True, 5.

Given all that transpired between him and Kardashian, Thompson shared with Jenner that he wanted to take accountability for his actions. “I want to gain back the respect of my family. That’s what I'm trying to do one day at a time,” he said.

“It’s hard to forgive the things you did to Khloé, but I want to move on from that,” Jenner responded.

Vowing to continue to prove himself is what Thompson then said is “my motivation."

“I never want my daughter to go to school and talk so great about me. She’ll be embarrassed and that’ll break my heart because she views me in such high regards," he explained. "I want to be a good influence and role model for them… so they can be proud of me and say, 'That's my daddy.' ”

Added Thompson, “Having the three most important things in my life taken away from me at the same time was the biggest wake up call you can get in your life.”

The pro basketball player’s sentiments echo what a source previously told PEOPLE. The insider shared that Thompson is "doing everything he can again to try and prove himself — not just to Khloé, but to the whole family. He's also grown closer to Kris after losing his own mom."
