Trisha Yearwood's season of celebrations continues on April 7 in Austin, Texas, at the 2024 CMT Music Awards.

At the event, Yearwood will be honored as the inaugural recipient of the June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award. She'll also perform a new song live at the festivities, airing from the Moody Center at 10 p.m. (CST) on CBS; it's also available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

A press release notes that the new honor "is inspired by the life and times of pioneering country star June Carter Cash and recognizes an artist, duo/group, or industry veteran who demonstrates exceptional dedication to the community and their fellow artists."

Much like the Jan. 2024-released CMT and Paramount documentary honoring the generational country star performer, the award embodies "June's spirit as a fierce advocate and initiator in paying it forward, helping others find their voice and using their platform to inspire and uplift others."

Yearwood's philanthropic work: 'multi-hyphenate trailblazer'

CMT's Music Awards executive producers list Yearwood's extensive philanthropic work with Habitat for Humanity, Dottie's Yard animal rescues, Stanford Women's Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, Humane Society, Grammy Foundation MusiCares, Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential, Starkey Hearing Foundation and Susan B. Komen Foundation, among many others. It also highlights her ability to rally a community as a "multi-hyphenate trailblazer (who) eloquently crafted a script for others to model, letting their hearts and authenticity guide their personal, professional and public lives."

The Grammy winner also mentors and champions fellow female artists as a quarter-century member of the Grand Ole Opry and works closely with the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, where she serves as a guardian and legacy keeper.

What song will Yearwood perform at the 2024 CMT Music Awards?

Yearwood will honor the moment by appearing on the CMT Music Awards stage for the first time in five years with the premiere of "Put It In A Song," the first release from her forthcoming album.

CMT has unveiled the fan-voted nominations for 2024's event, which Kelsea Ballerini will host.
