When he was first coming up in the music industry in the mid to late 2010s, Trippie Redd’s distinct look and sound helped set him apart from other lyricists. In the time since, he’s amassed upwards of 13 million Instagram followers, dropped five studio albums and a collection of emotion-filled mixtapes-– all of which the Ohio-born entertainer poured his heart into. As a young boy, Michael Lamar White heard his mom listening to artists like Ashanti, Nas, Beyoncé and Tupac, influencing his desire to pursue music. Later, Redd began exploring singers and bands from other genres, such as Kiss, Nirvana, Green Day and Simple Plan.

One of the “Love Scars” singer’s brothers, known to the world as Dirty Redd, lost his life to a car accident in 2014. Around this time is when Trippie felt ready to share his music with the world. After graduating high school, White moved to Atlanta where he connected with Lil Wop to learn the ins and outs of the rap game before giving us his debut mixtape in 2017.

As his fanbase continues to grow, more hip-hop heads are growing curious about Trippie Redd’s net worth, which we’ll examine below.

Who Is Trippie Redd?

The Good Mourning actor has Lil Wop to thank for getting his feet off the ground, but Redd has continued to impress us with his consistent delivery. His debut mixtape, A Love Letter to You and his “F**k Love” collaboration with XXXTENTACION helped make the rising star’s presence felt in 2017; that same year he gave us a sequel to his tape and the Angels & Demons EP in tandem with Wop. Early on in his career, Redd caught the attention of Travis Scott, ultimately leading to their “Dark Knight Dummo” collaboration that remains in rotation to this day.

After a year of successful mixtapes, the self-proclaimed Main Character was ready to give us a full-length album in 2018, titled Life’s a Trip. Thanks to his loyal listeners, Redd landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart before beating that with a No. 3 placement for his A Love Letter to You 3 tape. It’s obvious that White was on a roll musically during these years, but we can’t forget the beef he had with 6ix9ine that resulted in an attack, as well as two arrests – one for assaulting fellow rapper FDM Grady and another for allegedly pistol-whipping a woman.

Amid the backlash to all that drama, the Ohio-born artist’s third album, ! managed another No. 3 debut, but critically it failed to get the same reaction as its predecessors. It seems Redd took that personally and poured some extra passion into his music afterward, as A Love Letter to You 4 went on to become his first ever No. 1 album on Billboard.

2020 to Present Day

As we moved into pandemic times in 2020, White’s creative energy didn’t stop flowing. He worked with others like KSI, Juice WRLD and PARTYNEXTDOOR at the time, all while putting finishing touches on his Pegasus LP. That ultimately leaked early online in August, but the fashion lover still officially released it in October to a No. 2 debut. Leaning into his love for rock music, Redd gave us a deluxe cut of the LP, Neon Shark vs. Pegasus in 2021.

In the same year, one of his biggest hits in recent memory, “Miss the Rage” featuring Playboi Carti came out, and it took no time at all to blow up on TikTok and other social media platforms. His fourth studio album, Trip at Knight arrived in August of that year, but 2022 wound up being quiet for Redd in terms of new music. Instead, the multi-talent was in his acting bag, playing himself in Saints Row and appearing in Mod Sun and Machine Gun Kelly’s joint effort, Good Mourning.

After quite some time without a project from Redd, his fans were desperate to hear more come 2023, and he delivered just weeks into the year. His Mansion Musik marked yet another No. 3 debut, but critically the reviews were mixed. This didn’t seem to bother the young performer, as he unveiled A Love Letter to You 5 in the late summer before taking us on a new sonic journey with a seven-track Saint Michael EP (later issued as a full-length LP). Most recently, Redd and MGK joined forces in 2024 for their Genre: Sadboy EP, which hasn’t been a hit with all listeners. Still, it certainly proves that the “Mac 10” rhymer still has new tricks up his sleeve.

So, after all that, what is Trippie Redd’s net worth? Sources online can’t seem to agree on the matter; CelebrityNetWorth alleges it’s $5 million, though the 24-year-old argued in July 2019 that he’s worth $16M but was unable to provide them verification. A year before that, XXL reported that White declared himself to be worth $7M around the same time that he bought his mom a new $300K house.

According to HipHopDX, Redd signed a record deal with 10K Projects in 2022 for $30M, allowing him to purchase a $7.5 million mansion – seemingly the inspiration behind his first 2023 album’s title. It’s unclear exactly how these major money moves impact the MC’s net worth overall, but it’s evident that inking a multi-million dollar deal has inspired him to keep creating and evolving as an artist.
