Fans were chanting “Whoop that Trick” on Friday night, as Trick Williams made a surprise appearance on the January 26 episode of WWE SmackDown.

In recent weeks, former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes been showing up on SmackDown on a somewhat regular basis. His match with Austin Theory on the January 12 episode came to a premature stop, as the two stars seeming suffered an injury after they crashed off the top rope.

Hayes faced Theory in a rematch on Friday, and the former WWE United States Champion stole the win by pulling Hayes’ tights. After the bell, Theory and Grayson Waller attacked Hayes, but Trick Williams made the save, and the two NXT stars stood tall.

Williams and Hayes are currently competing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on NXT. They will compete in a semi-final match on the January 30 episode, where they will face the LWO. Additionally, Williams is set to challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship at NXT Vengeance Day.
