Tributes Pour In For TikToker Eva Evans Following Her Sudden Passing

The TikTok community is mourning the death of one of their own. Eva Evans, 29, passed away last week, with her sister, Lila Joy, announcing the sad news on social media on April 21.

On April 23, TMZ reported that Evans' cause of death was suicide.

Sister Shares News Of Evans' Death

“Please share this post so that it reaches everyone it needs to. Yesterday, my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died. After 24 hours, I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be,” her sister said.

“I wish I had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what I don’t. I am keeping this brief, so we can plan for the next few days, but you’ll be hearing a lot more from me on how much Eva means to me and just how different the world will be without her,” she concluded.

Evans Was An Influencer And Content Creator

Evans had amassed over 300,000 followers on TikTok, with content that offered a glimpse of her life as a 20-something living in New York City.

As the Today Show reported, Evans was also a writer and producer who “created and starred in the Amazon Prime series, ‘Club Rat,’ a comedy about an influencer trying to date again in New York City after her breakup video goes viral.”

The news of the death comes just one week after another TikTok star’s shocking death. Kyle Marisa Roth passed away in early April. Her mother announced her passing on social media on April 15. No official cause of death was provided.

Celebrities React To Evans' Death

Responses to Evans’ death have poured in on social media. Comedian Hannah Berner commented on Evans’ sister’s post, “Sending your family love.” TikToker Tefi Pessoa, better known by her handle, Hello Tefi, commented, “I am so sorry for your loss. I’ll light a candle for her tonight. Sending you and everyone who loved her my deepest condolences. I’ll tell my grandparents to show her around.” Writer Cat Marnell wrote, “How absolutely horrible. Rest in peace.”

Julia Fox Remembers Evans

Actress Julia Fox also commented on Evans’ sister’s post, “I literally can’t believe it.”

Fox then took to TikTok to share more about her friendship with Evans. The “Uncut Gems” actress stitched a video of Evans’ in which Evans defended Jojo Siwa’s latest rebrand and said, “This video has nothing to do with Jojo and everything to do with Eva.”

Fox continued, holding back tears. “I’m sure a lot of you know, [Evans] was a TikTok star and a New York icon. I always saw her like a little sister and I know she looked up to me. That’s the kind of person she was, sticking up for Jojo. Always sticking up for me. And she passed away. And she was so young. She still had so much to do in life. She lived life to the fullest. And I don’t know what’s happening because we just lost Kyle last week. And I feel like I live so much on this app, I feel like you guys are my family.”

Sister Urges Mourners To Wear 'Anything F------ Fabulous' To Memorial

Joy shared another post on Instagram with information about a memorial service for her sister.

“Due to the overwhelming response regarding Eva’s celebration of life, we are holding a service to honor her at Grace Church in downtown Manhattan. We would like to extend an invitation to include anyone who loved Eva; your presence would mean so much to her and us.”

Joy concluded the post by giving details of the public ceremony. Under attire, Joy wrote, “Anything f------ fabulous, but no pressure. All dark colors.”
