Tribeca Festival Sets 2024 Key Dates

The 2024 Tribeca Festival is already underway with submissions now open.

The 23rd edition of the New York City-based festival, presented by OKX, is set to take place June 5 through 16 next year, with programming ranging from film, TV, immersive, games, audio storytelling, talks, and more.

“Tribeca is a global platform for storytellers to showcase art that speaks with purpose,” Tribeca CEO and co-founder Jane Rosenthal said in a press statement. “As the industry has changed, we have evolved to be inclusive of all forms of storytelling. We’re proud to be the launchpad for the next generation of artists. The 23rd Tribeca Festival will be a groundbreaking cultural event that shifts how audiences receive and react to entertainment.”

Submissions for the 2024 Festival are now open:

Key dates for features are October 23, 2023 (early), November 27, 2023 (official), and January 17, 2024 (extended).

Shorts close on November 1, 2023 (early), December 15, 2023 (official), and February 2, 2024 (extended).

Games and immersive close on November 27, 2023 (early), January 10, 2024 (official), and February 13, 2024 (extended).

Audio storytelling closes on November 27, 2023 (early), January 10, 2024 (official), and February 21, 2024 (extended).

Tribeca X closes on March 13, 2024.

The 2023 Tribeca Festival featured more than 550 events across New York City and was attended in-person by over 130,000 people. Tribeca Talks with David Fincher, Steven Soderbergh, and Paul McCartney were among programming highlights, along with the world premieres of “Bucky F*king Dent,” “Cypher,” “Bad Things,” and “The Blackening.” The festival opened with the North American premiere of U2 documentary “Kiss the Future” produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck; a special 30th-anniversary screening of “A Bronx Tale” closed out the festival.

“Cypher” took home the Founders Award for Best U.S. Narrative Feature at the 2022 Tribeca Festival. “Smoking Tigers” was awarded Best Screenplay for So Young Shelly Yo’s script and Best Performance for Ji-Young Yoo’s critically acclaimed acting.

Festival director Cara Cusumano has been promoted to SVP of Programming ahead of the 2024 festival, with José F. Rodriguez additionally being announced as a senior programmer. The Festival is curated by Cusumano; Artistic Director Frédéric Boyer; VP of Shorts Programming Ben Thompson; senior programmers Liza Domnitz, Faridah Gbadamosi, Jarod Neece, and Rodriguez; programmers Casey Baron, Jason Gutierrez, Jonathan Penner, and Madison Egan; VP of Games and Immersive Casey Baltes; Curator of Audio Storytelling Davy Gardner; Music Programmer Vincent Cassous; EVP of Artist Relations Nancy Lefkowitz and VP of Artist Relations Meredith Mohr, plus a team of associate programmers.

The Tribeca Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 in the wake of 9/11. Per the official festival statement, the festival was meant to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan following the attacks on the World Trade Center, and has since expanded in the two decades since its founding.
