Nearly all of the Astroworld Festival lawsuits that stemmed from the 2021 event have been settled. According to ABC 7, agreements have been reached in nine out of 10 wrongful death lawsuits that resulted from the music festival that ended in 10 tragedies.

Neal Manne, an attorney for the festival’s promoter, Live Nation, said during a court hearing in Wednesday (May 8) that only one wrongful death lawsuit remained pending. One case (on behalf of Madison Dubiski) was even set to go to trial this week, but is now settled.

ABC 7 reports that the terms of the settlements “were confidential and attorneys declined to comment after the court hearing because of a gag order in the case.”

The only lawsuit that remains pending is one that represents Ezra Blount, the youngest person killed during the concert. The case was filed by the family of 9-year-old, and as of publication, attorneys in the litigation are set to meet next week to discuss the trial.

The tragic festival took place on Nov. 5, 2021, at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. The event, which was held to promote Travis Scott’s album of the same name, ended in a crowd crush that left eight people dead on site, as well as two more who later passed away in the hospital. This week’s results are not the end of the aftermath, as according to Variety, “more than 4,000 attendees filed hundreds of lawsuits following the event, with 2,400 injury cases to come.”

Just last month, the news arrived that the “Goosebumps” rapper must stand trial in the Astroworld lawsuits. After Scott’s request to be dropped from the suit was rejected by State District Judge Kristen Hawkins, the artist was expected to appear in court on May 6.

Prior to that, reports were released confirming other defendants like Drake, Epic Records, Travis Scott’s record label, Darryl Platt, Eighteentwentysix LLC, Epic Records, ParaDocs Worldwide Inc, Re:Source Event Group, Scoremore LLC, and Scoremore MGMT LLC were dismissed from the litigation.
