Travis Kelce and the Chiefs Win New Year's Eve Game, Division Title as Taylor Swift Cheers Him On

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a final score of 25-17

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs won Sunday afternoon’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals and secured their AFC West division title as Taylor Swift cheered on her man from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce, 34, notched 16 yards, helping lead his team to the win as Swift, also 34, watched alongside the team’s family and friends.

The Chiefs defeated the Bengals with a final score of 25-17, despite not having the best start of the game. By the halftime, the Chiefs were down thanks primarily to the Chiefs' defensive strategy, which kept the Bengals from scoring after halftime.

The two-time Super Bowl Champion and the “Blank Space” singer have been romantically linked since the late summer. The talk of a budding romance heated up once Swift began appearing at Kelce’s games alongside his parents in late September.

Swift and Kelce began going out on dates in October between their busy schedules — the “Lavender Haze” singer coming off the theatrical release of her Eras Tour film and Kelce in the midst of the 2023 NFL season — and Swift was spotted on Instagram kissing Kelce on the cheek, ramping up speculation that their relationship was becoming more serious.

Indeed it was, a source told PEOPLE later that month.

"It's quickly turning more serious. They share a strong work ethic and have a huge appreciation for life and their careers, strong family bond and values," the source said. Kelce is also "sweet, goofy and just a blast to be around," added the source.

Then in November, Kelce traveled to Argentina to attend Swift’s Era Tour performance alongside her father. During the show, Swift gave Kelce a shoutout as she changed the lyrics of her final song "Karma" to, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” causing Kelce to flash a big grin. And afterwards, Swift ran off stage and into Kelce’s arms before the pair shared a kiss caught on camera.

“He is a gentleman,” a source told PEOPLE of the NFL star at the time. “He is very focused on his career. He has a great relationship with his family. He has an amazing energy and approach to life.” The insider added, “It all feels very special."

Earlier this month, Swift opened up to Time magazine about her romance with Kelce and revealed how it all began.

During the interview, she revealed how her romance with Kelce came to be, saying it "all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell."

“We started hanging out right after that,” Swift added. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”

Swift has since been spotted at most of Kelce’s game, often sitting with other players’ partners, like Brittany Mahomes, or Kelce’s mother Donna, one of PEOPLE’s 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year.

Swift, who topped PEOPLE’s 25 Most Intriguing People of 2023 list, was also at Kelce’s game last week on Christmas Day.
