Travis Kelce says he has an idea of what he may name his future child.

“I might name my first kid Conan. I might,” he said on the April 3, 2024 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

The comment was seemingly made in jest while interviewing Arnold Schwarzenegger in reference to the star’s 1982 hit film Conan the Barbarian. In the action movie, Schwarzenegger plays the title character, a powerful warrior attempting to avenge the murders of his village people and parents.

It may not be on the list of top baby names, but the name Conan is of Celtic origin and means “little wolf,” according to Nameberry.com, a website devoted to baby names.

No, he did not mention having said child with superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift on this podcast episode in case you were wondering.

But jokes aside, viewers have been sharing positive feedback on the inspirational episode, including one YouTube user who wrote, "Life lessons from a legend. Epic!"

The Kelce brothers, who launched their podcast in 2022, said they grew up watching Schwarzenegger’s films and were visibly hyped to have the star on their show.

“You were such a huge part of our childhood and what we aspired to be so to have you on the show, it’s like coming full circle for both of us,” Jason told Schwarzenegger, author of Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life.

Schwarzenegger has been an influential figure for decades finding success as a body builder, actor, businessman, author, and former Governor of California. The interview dove into what it takes to achieve success and dealing with losses, both professionally and personally, along the way.

The Terminator star spoke of the discouraging words he received from others when deciding to run for governor of California, a position he went on to hold from 2003 to 2011. Ultimately, Schwarzenegger explained he reached his goals by focusing on his vision—not on the negativity.

“Don’t listen to the naysayers,” said Schwarzenegger, adding, “You cannot worry about those things. You got to go all out. It’s now or never.”

It’s a lesson Schwarzenegger tries to teach students through the USC Schwarzenegger Institute. He said he often asks students what they want to be “and they cannot come up with a clear answer." Schwarzenegger, a dad of five, added, “A lot of people don’t have a vision so that’s why I say the most important thing is to have a clear vision.”

On top of having a vision, Schwarzenegger said working hard is critical no matter what career path you choose and emphasizes that there is no shortcut. “Pick goals, not small goals,” added Schwarzenegger. “Small goals is kind of like when you’re afraid of failing…if you get rid of the fear of failure, that’s when you’re free.”
