ST. LOUIS — Taylor Swift’s new album has arrived with a surprising 15 extra tracks, bringing the total track list to 31. One of these songs might be a reference to her new boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Track 15, ‘The Alchemy,’ seems to hint at this with lyrics like “Where’s the trophy? He just comes runnin’ over to me.”

This song is among many that discuss her British ex-boyfriends, Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy. In ‘So Long, London,’ she delves into her relationship with Alwyn and their recent breakup after a six-year relationship in April 2023.

Following their breakup, Swift began dating Kelce towards the end of 2023. In ‘The Alchemy,’ she sings, “These blokes warm the benches/We’ve been on a winning streak,” possibly alluding to her current relationship with Kelce.

She also makes references to sports, particularly football, with lines like ‘So when I touch down/Call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team.’

During the bridge, she sings, “Shirts off and your friends lift you up over their heads/Beer stickin’ to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said/There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league/Where’s the trophy? He just comes runnin’ over to me.”

An article from Genius.com provides references to each lyric that could have a connection to the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. People magazine also deciphered some of Swift’s songs and also has come to the conclusion that ‘The Alchemy” is possibly about her new relationship.

Kelce has yet to publicly comment on being featured on the new Taylor Swift album. However, back in February, he told Extra that the new album is “unbelievable” and that he couldn’t wait for the world to hear it.
