(WJW) – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is no rookie when it comes to the big game, but the Northeast Ohio native, who was recently casted in an upcoming horror television series, admits he has a lot to learn about acting.

The Super Bowl champ, who has stayed in the spotlight the past couple years for his relationship with Taylor Swift, will star in the FX series “Grotesquerie,” created by American Horror Story showrunner Ryan Murphy.

His brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, asked Travis about the new gig during their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday.

“Ryan Murphy is an unbelievable writer, director, all the above, man. There’s nothing he can’t do,” Travis said.

During the podcast, Travis said he was shocked that Murphy offered him the role.

“It’s a big role in the show and he seemed very confident that I would be able to do this,” he said.

This isn’t the Kelce brother’s first time appearing in television. He made his acting debut in an episode of Moonbase 8 in 2020. Still, Travis admits this show is “a completely different vibe.”

“I feel like a Jabroni, I feel like an amateur and haven’t gotten fired yet, Travis said, giving a thumbs up. “It’s been awesome.”

He said, at first, his biggest concern was memorizing his lines.

“But in the reality of things, you want to be able to take that scene from one point to the next and portray exactly what that scene’s meaning is,” Travis said. “Everybody has just been so helpful and making me feel comfortable, and on top of that, just giving me the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part that I’m in and it’s been so much fun.”

Travis went on to thank Murphy and the rest of the cast and crew for the opportunity.

“Hopefully I don’t bomb this for (Murphy),” Travis joked.

It’s one of multiple off-season jobs for the tight-end, who also is hosting “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?” on Prime Video.

Jason, who retired from the NFL this past season, just signed a deal with ESPN to appear on the network’s Monday Night Football pre-game show.
