Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker knows that life’s about all the small things, and that includes sweet moments with his daughter, Alabama Luella Barker.

The musician became a dad for the first time in 2003 when he welcomed his son Landon Barker with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. The couple grew their family in 2005 with the birth of Alabama before splitting up in 2008.

Alabama has a lot in common with her dad, including a love of music from a young age and a passion for tattoos. In honor of her 18th birthday, the performer praised his daughter and all her accomplishments.

"Being your Dad is the biggest joy in the world," he wrote on Instagram. "May you be surrounded by love and all your favorite things today and forever! I’m so proud of you and I love you so much!”

Alabama admires her father as well, even posting a sweet note he wrote her in 2023 and captioning it, “Your [sic] truly the best dad."

Barker and Moakler welcomed their second child, Alabama Luella, on Dec. 24, 2005, weighing in at 7 lbs., 1 oz.

Barker explained the origins of his daughter’s name on the Young Hollywood YouTube show in 2017, saying that it was inspired by the 1993 Quentin Tarantino film True Romance.

“I loved that movie so much,” he shared. “I loved Clarence Worley ... and, then, of course, his lovely wife Alabama [played by Patricia Arquette] ... she was so dope in that movie. When it came time we were having a little girl, I fought for ‘Alabama’ so hard.”

Shortly after her birth, Barker opened up about having a daughter. "It’s been amazing,” he told MTV News. “I’ve been staying at the hospital and hanging out with her ... It’s so crazy having a little girl — everything from the way she cries to the way she looks at you is so different."

In 2017, Barker shared a video on Instagram of his daughter playing the drums, captioning it, “My little percussionist." Despite her natural talent, Alabama told her dad that drums weren’t her passion, and she wanted to explore a different musical path.

“Alabama came to me and said, ‘Look, I don't know if I wanna be a drummer,’ “ Barker explained on Young Hollywood. “‘I like playing drums with you, I like spending time with you, but I think I'd rather sing and play piano.’ So we did that, and we never looked back.”

Barker praised her talent, and she released her first pop single, “Our House,” the same year at just 12 years old, followed by “Heartbreaker” and several holiday songs in 2018.

Alabama made her rap debut in 2023

Alabama tried out a new music style in 2023 when she posted a video lip-syncing to a snippet of her new rap song on TikTok.

Afterward, the aspiring artist revealed why she decided to try out the new genre. "Since I could walk, I was in the music industry. I was watching my dad perform in punk bands, rock bands, in rap concerts, everything," she explained in a since-deleted video. "I've been influenced by rap my entire upbringing and punk rock."

She also shared a childhood photo with Nicki Minaj taken during her dad's time touring with the "Super Bass" rapper and Rick Ross during Lil Wayne's I Am Music II Tour in 2011.

“This tour was when I was about 5 years old," Alabama recalled about Minaj. "[I was] 5 years old watching her set every day. I knew every lyric."

Alabama has tattoos like her parents, and she likes to use her ink to pay tribute to her loved ones. In January 2024, she posted a photo of getting tattooed at the same time as her dad and shared that her newest piece said "Isn't She Lovely” on the side of her left hand.

The artwork paid homage to her parents in a sweet way. "Fun Fact: I was rocked as a baby to this song almost everyday!" she explained in the caption while the Stevie Wonder song played in the background.

A few months earlier, shortly following the death of her maternal grandfather and grandmother earlier in 2023, she got a cross tattooed on her middle finger.

For my grandparents,” she wrote alongside a photo of it on her Instagram Story. “They loved you so much...” her mom, Moakler, added when she shared it on the social media platform.

In August 2023, Alabama gave fans some insight into the health conditions she’d been struggling with behind the scenes after her weight was mentioned on social media. She explained that her weight “fluctuates” because she has “a thyroid problem and an autoimmune disease.”

“Paparazzi will purposely take pictures of you with your mouth open, middle of a sentence and any ugly picture they can get of you just for views,” she said in a TikTok video. “So, it would be very appreciated if you guys just keep your opinions to yourself. It’ll get you further in life.”

She has a sweet relationship with her stepmom Kourtney Kardashian

Alabama's family expanded when her dad married Kourtney Kardashian in 2022, and she was a bridesmaid at the wedding.

The following year, she opened up about her special relationship with Kardashian while sharing a birthday tribute on her Instagram Story. "You're the best stepmom I could ask for,” Alabama wrote. “You are so caring and generous for others, you are such a family person and such a hard-working mom."

"Even if you don't feel good or had a hard day, you always put your family first," she added. "You have such a beautiful aura, I wouldn't want another stepmom.”

Kardashian only has good things to say about Alabama as well. "You're such a blessing in my life @alabamaluellabarker, happy birthday!” she wrote in December 2023.

Alabama is surrounded by lots of love from her many siblings and stepsiblings. Her mom and boxer Oscar De la Hoya welcomed their first child — Alabama’s half-sister — Atiana, in 1999. Four years later, Moakler and Barker welcomed their first child together, Landon.

When Barker married Kardashian in 2022, Alabama got three step-siblings — Mason Disick, Penelope Disick and Reign Disick — and she got another little half-brother in 2023 when the pair welcomed son Rocky.

"I just think having another family member is always awesome," Alabama told E! News at the time. "Getting to know a new person, it's gonna be so fun and so exciting!"
