Transgender comedian Suzy Izzard is "preferring" her new name, and she's sharing an update with fans about what to call her.

Izzard first shared that she was using the name Suzy in addition to Eddie during an appearance on "The Political Party" podcast in March.

Izzard will continue to go by Eddie, and in a tweet Thursday she said "I don't mind" being called Eddie.

"So no one can really get it wrong unless they call me Kenneth or Sabrina," she said.

"I prefer she/her but I don't mind he/him," the comedian said of her pronouns.

Izzard will be "remaining Eddie Izzard in public," she said, and has not changed her account names on Twitter or Instagram. So far, her most recent tweet has received over 75,000 likes and many comments of support from fans.

While reflecting on her relationship with pronouns, Izzard told "The Political Party" podcast host Matt Forde earlier this year that she was altering her name to better encompass her transgender identity.

"I'm Eddie. There's another name I’m going to add in as well, which is Suzy, which I wanted to be since I was 10," Izzard said. "I'm going to be Suzy Eddie Izzard."

In 2019, the comedian came out as gender fluid to podcaster Joe Rogan, sharing that she was "going to have, like a superhero, boy mode and girl mode."

"It's easier for me to be in girl mode," Izzard said at the time. "I have a confidence now, I carry myself with a certain confidence."

Like many transgender and queer people, Izzard's coming out process has not been static or linear.

The comedian originally said she was exclusively using she/her pronouns in a television appearance on Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year, a British painting competition series, in 2020.

Izzard is best known for her stand-up comedy, including "Dress to Kill," as well as film roles like 2017's "Victoria & Abdul," 2007's "Ocean's Thirteen" and 2004's "Ocean's Twelve."
