Fans of The Traitors better buckle up. The show’s creator has officially launched a new show called The Anonymous, set to air on the USA Network at a later date.

According to Deadline, NBCUniversal has greenlit the series, which will have similar themes to some of the production company’s other hits, including The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge. The latter aired on Netflix in 2023 and received a lot of fan feedback.

In this new series, players will operate in two worlds: the real world and the digital world. The real world allows players to mingle with each other face-to-face, but in the digital world, the players communicate underneath “a mask of anonymity” — also known as Anonymous Mode. But will the players be able to keep their identities a secret? Or will their fellow cast mates catch on to their game? The series will be filmed in Europe, and from the sound of it, will be full of drama.

It’s no secret that fans love The Traitors. After watching Real Housewives and Big Brother vets like Phaedra Parks and Dan Gheesling go at it during the explosive round-table discussions, the series quickly became streaming’s most-watched unscripted series of 2024.

With that also came a series renewal. In addition to Phaedra and Dan’s feud, other reality stars pulled their weight to make this show a success, including Mercedes “MJ” Javid, Larsa Pippen, Peter Weber, and many others.

Johnny Bananas from The Challenge and House of Villains was also part of the cast briefly. After being the first murder victim of the season, he went on a ruthless social media rant, attacking Dan for being a washed-up reality TV legend. “I take solace in the fact that I never had a chance to play,” he wrote. “Turns out I wasn’t Dan’s biggest threat; his insecurities were. Dude got outplayed by a Bachelor … then ate up by a housewife. That wasn’t a banishment it was a MURDER.”

And for watchers who are hoping Bananas will return for Season 3, the show’s producers teased anything could happen over in Scotland.

Stream The Traitors on Peacock.
