New trailer for 'The Irishman' shows off a de-aged Robert De Niro

    September 26, 2019

Robert De Niro stopped by The Tonight Show Wednesday night, where he talked about his upcoming Netflix film The Irishman, directed by Martin Scorsese, and the reverse-aging technology that was used to make him look younger in the film.

The movie, which also stars Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, marks the ninth film collaboration between De Niro and Scorsese and is creating a lot of buzz around the film's de-aging visual effects that were used to make the actors appear decades younger, and at various ages, throughout the film.

"It took a lot of work to do," De Niro told Jimmy Fallon. He joked, "I'm happy. Maybe it'll extend my career another 30 years."

De Niro went on to explain that part of the process required him to wear "dots," which are facial tracking markers for motion capture, on his face. De Niro explained, "We had slight dots. They didn't want it to get in our way and Marty didn't want that. I did one other thing. We had all kinds of stuff, but this they did very subtly, and so on, so they had references for whatever. Little kinds of cameras taking pictures and a special camera photographing us."

While De Niro appeared on The Tonight Show, Fallon also debuted a brand new trailer for The Irishman, which gives viewers an even better look at all of those awesome effects.

The Irishman hits select theaters November 1, followed by a release on Netflix accounts November 27.

Joe Biden told a protestor at his Texas campaign rally that he's 'just like Donald Trump' for asking about corruption in Ukraine

Jan: Key Democratic operatives and private investigators who tried to derail Donald Trump’s campaign by claiming he was a tool of the Kremlin have rebooted their operation since his election with a multimillion-dollar stealth campaign to persuade major media outlets and lawmakers that the president should be impeached. The effort has successfully placed a series of questionable stories alleging secret back channels and meetings between Trump associates and Russian spies, while influencing related investigations and reports from Congress. The operation’s nerve center is a Washington-based nonprofit called The Democracy Integrity Project, or TDIP. Among other activities, it pumps out daily “research” briefings to prominent Washington journalists, as well as congressional staffers, to keep the Russia “collusion” narrative alive. Glenn R. Its financial backers include the actor/director Rob Reiner and billionaire activist George Soros.
