Tracy Morgan is back in action! The actor-comedian was spotted on the set of the movie Fist Fight in Atlanta on Oct. 7.

Morgan was in character — wearing blue-and-white school colors, topped with a whistle and mascot emblem — as a high-school coach. He has a supporting role in the movie that stars Ice Cube and Charlie Day as two teachers at a rundown school who get into a brawl.

Fist Fight marks the first live-action film role for Morgan, 46, since his near-fatal car accident. The June 7, 2014, wreck left his friend and fellow comedian James McNair dead and Morgan severely injured. The performer spent the better part of a year recovering from injuries, including head trauma and a broken leg.

Fist Fight marks Morgan’s first film role since Chris Rock’s 2014 romantic comedy Top Five. The new photo of the funnyman comes three weeks after Morgan’s memorable, emotional speech at the 2015 Emmy Awards, where he took the stage to a rousing ovation.

His comeback is ramping up. Aside from the movie gig, Morgan is due to return to his alma mater, Saturday Night Live, on Oct. 17.

Fist Fight, also starring Christina Hendricks, is due in theaters next year.
