Jamie Dornan-starrer The Tourist has moved to Netflix in the U.S. after being dropped by Max.

Netflix will launch Season 2 on February 29 and stream the first several weeks earlier. The Tourist Season 2 is one of the BBC’s flagship launches of 2024 and will return on New Year’s Day, while it is also co-produced for Australia’s Stan and Germany’s ZDF.

Max (then HBO Max) was co-producer on Season 1 of the show from Fleabag producer Two Brothers Pictures but episodes were removed several weeks back and the WBD streamer is not involved with the second season.

Season 2 sees Elliot, played by Dornan, travel to Ireland to find answers about his identity with Helen (Danielle Macdonald), but instead, they are forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions. In Season 1, Elliot woke up in the Australian outback with no memory and had to use clues to discover his identity before his past caught up with him.

Season 2 is exec produced by Harry and Jack Williams, Sarah Hammond, Daniel Walker for Two Brothers, Nawfal Faizullah for the BBC and Belfast star Dornan. All3Media International is distributor.
