Torrei Hart loves her married name and has no intentions of going by her maiden name again, despite her very public split from ex-husband, Kevin Hart.

During a sit-down on The Pettyish Podcast, Hart shared her reasons for keeping her married name after her divorce following critics calling her “disloyal” for touring with Katt Williams while baring Kevin’s last name.

“First of all, this is my name,” Torrei began, insisting that she is still legally a “Hart” and that Kevin has never asked her to change it. She also asserted that she’s built a brand with the surname and that it simply sounds better than her maiden name.

“I’ve built a career with this name,” she said before revealing, “My maiden name was Skipper,” resulting in all three ladies bursting into laughter.

“Torrei Skipper! Do you know how many jokes got cracked on me growing up being Torrei Skipper?”, she added, leading the two hosts to agree that “Hart” has a “better ring to it.”

“I mean, Skipper’s cute, don’t get me wrong….you know, but, I like ‘Hart’ better. I do. It just is what it is. It’s my name, I’ve built a brand around my name, I was there from the beginning. Helping build the brand name ‘Hart.'”

Torrei recently announced that she would be hitting the road with Williams, just days after the comic took aim at her ex-husband on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, calling him an “industry plant.” Torrei insists joining Katt on tour has nothing to do with Kevin, and the Lift actor has responded in kind, wishing them well on the trek.

“I want everybody to win,” the 44-year-old told TMZ. “I hope the tour is great.”
