Jake Muzzin provides the definitive Jake Muzzin highlight
Entering his 10th NHL season, Jake Muzzin’s sole focus heading into his first full training camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs is to ready the body for the rigours of what could potentially be a season that extends deep into spring, in addition to building some familiarity with new partner Tyson Barrie.
Muzzin is not one of the many players that needs to show something to win one of the spots up for grabs in training camp. But he can provide an example of just what that looks like.
Killing a penalty in the third period on Saturday night in Buffalo, Muzzin hammered Victor Olofsson with a heavy hit along the boards before completing the process of dumping him into the Leafs bench.
In addition to unsurprisingly being the most exciting moment of the preseason clash, it also in effect erased the disadvantage the Leafs were then working at.
An opportunity the Leafs’ penalty killers took swift advantage of once Muzzin sent them away in transition.

Yeah, Auston Matthews is already in mid-season form with three goals in two exhibition contests, but this is quite clearly the highlight of the Leafs preseason to this point.
