Even Tori Spelling and Shannen Doherty aren’t completely sure what led to the end of their friendship.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 costars reunited for an episode of Doherty’s Let’s Be Clear podcast on April 22, and as they reflected on their days on the hit '90s teen series, they also dove into what sparked the falling out that ended their once close friendship.

Doherty, 53, said that prior to recording the podcast episode, she and Spelling, 50, were “trying to figure out” what the “pivotal moment” was that weakened their bond, “because it's like one minute, we were friends, and then one minute we weren't.”

Spelling — who played Donna Martin — admitted to being a “swayer,” which she called her “downfall.”

Doherty agreed, adding, “You were always easily swayed. And it was very frustrating for me because I always used to tell you like, ‘Yeah, Tor, have an opinion.’ Like, you're smart, you're funny, you're talented. I loved you and I respected you and I wanted you to believe in yourself as much as I believed in you.”

While trying to “figure out what was the weak point where you were able to be swayed,” Doherty said she believes it was due to the relationship Spelling was in at the time.

“I think it was your boyfriend," she said.

Spelling described her then-boyfriend as “abusive” and “an addict,” and Doherty recalled a trip the actresses took to Mexico with their respective boyfriends as one poignant memory before her and Spelling’s friendship took a turn.

“There was a point — I specifically remember looking at you and saying, 'You have to end it with him, or I'm going to actually kill him. Like — I can't stand by and watch this,' ” Doherty said.

She added that the pair “started drifting apart” after the trip. “And all I can think is that because you didn't break up with him. You stayed and you got tortured for a little bit longer," the Charmed alum said.

Doherty also shared two other notable moments of contention among the cast — which included the late Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering — as she noted, “I can't recall the exact riff, but I'm thinking all of those things sort of collided at one time. And maybe it was just so much pressure from other people that, you know, the friendship just dissipated and then you gravitated toward others.”

Spelling admitted to being “easily swayed” by cast members during certain pivotal moments, like when deciding on a Christmas gift for the show’s crew, which caused some major disagreements, and when Doherty, Perry and Priestley were chosen to pose for the cover of Rolling Stone in 1992.

Doherty said “several cast members” approached her dressing room and “sat me down” to tell her: “I should not be doing covers without the entire cast.”

Spelling was among the group who approached her, which she didn’t remember.

“I’m sorry,” Spelling said. “I couldn’t [speak up]. I still can't speak up for myself sometimes — at 50.”

Reflecting on her days on the hit show, Spelling added, “I think when I was young, it was whoever was the alpha more at the moment would sway me. And I think I couldn't stand up for myself ... I didn't take ownership of anything. So it's like, you know, nice, nice, nice to everyone. But it's like you said, have a f---ing opinion about something. And I'm sure I did."

While Spelling and Doherty may never know just what led to their friendship fizzling during their time on 90210, neither actress lets the past hold them back from reminiscing on the good times.

In March, Spelling shared a sweet throwback shot with Doherty on Instagram, writing, "Very few people can make me laugh 😂 this hard... @theshando you have always been one to do so. Full tilt. Laugh as if no one is watching."
