Tori Spelling confronts Instagram shamers alleging she makes money off her kids: 'Please make informed judgments'

Tori Spelling isn’t afraid to fight back against Instagram commenters. The BH90210 star snapped back at several people who accused her of making money off her children in recent Christmas photos.

“Having a ‘snow’ ball putting the finishing touches on our amazing @kingofchristmas tree in our chic and cozy holiday family pjs by @Santandabel xoxo....” Spelling wrote in an Instagram post Friday, tagging the artificial Christmas tree and pajama brands.

The photos featured Spelling, her husband Dean McDermott, and their five children — Liam, 12, Stella, 11, Hattie, 8, Finn, 7, and Beau, 2 — wearing matching PJs next to the Christmas tree.

A follower accused Spelling of using her family to promote the brands, writing, “Is there anything this family will not do or wear for money!! Wow, these poor kids.”

“Just FYI we were not paid for anything in this picture!” Spelling replied. “No exchange of $ at all. We are just complete fans of these products.”

Another user remarked, “I wonder if your kids get tired of being directed and produced for these paid promotions” and Spelling shot back, “The answer is no bc we weren’t paid for anything in this picture. This is our tree and these are their jammies. Is that ok with you?”

A different comment read, “It is sad how you use your children to promote yourself and make money. Do what you gotta do but let the kids make their decisions when they are old enough to.”

But Spelling replied, “Didn’t make any $ from this picture and not promoting anything aside from sharing our actual lives. This is us. Please make informed judgments [sic].”

In August, while promoting the 90210 reboot, Spelling shared how growing up today is very different from when her hit television show aired, because technology and social media weren’t a constant presence. “It was a different world 30 years ago,” Spelling told Yahoo Lifestyle. “Kids were a lot more sheltered then, and everyone’s eyes are more open nowadays. It’s different.”

Spelling also took heat right before Halloween when an Instagram user disapproved of her 8-year-old daughter’s red hair, captured in a family photo, writing, “Parenting gone wrong.” The star’s fans came to her defense.
