These Topeka restaurants will offer Christmas dinner for delivery or takeout, while others will be open
If you want to enjoy the holiday season with family instead of spending it over a hot stove, consider letting one of these Topeka restaurants do the cooking for you.
With a variety of options sure to please every palate, the only thing you have to worry about is ordering in enough time to beat the crowd.
Many offer complete meal packages or order-ahead desserts that can be picked up in the days leading up to Christmas and reheated or served when you need them. There are even a few that will be open on Christmas Day if you want to leave the cleanup to them as well.
The following businesses are taking orders now through the holiday season.
Annie’s Place
Annie’s at 4014 S.W. Gage Center Drive will be closed on Christmas Day, but is now accepting orders for homemade holiday pies. Flavors include pumpkin, cherry, peach, Key lime, coconut cream, pecan, sugar free chocolate cream, cherry crumb and Dutch apple.
Place your order by Dec. 19 for pick up before 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Contact 785-273-0848 to reserve your pies.

Cracker Barrel
Heat and serve holiday meals come ready to reheat when you need them. Offered in two sizes that feed 4-6 or 8-10, prices range from $100-$150 for a complete meal that includes meat, sides and rolls. Choose from sugar cured ham or prime rib and a choice of dressing, gravy, cranberry relish, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and more. Pie is also available.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
Located north of town at 609 N.W. US-24 highway, Dickey’s can prepare meat for your holiday meal needs, including choice of smoked turkey, peppercorn garlic prime rib, spiral cut ham or Cajun fried turkey. They also offer sides and rolls.
A complete feast meal feeds 10-12 people and includes choice of meat, three sides and rolls starting at $115. A dinner feast feeds 8-10 and includes one meat, a side, and rolls starting at $92. Meals are heat-and-ready-to-serve. Whole pies start at $19.

Engroff Catering
Engroff Catering is offering complete holiday meals starting at $18/person to include turkey or ham, three sides and dinner rolls. Side options include mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, candied sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn and green bean casserole. Whole pies can be added for an additional charge.

Herman’s Meat and Smokehouse
Located at 4211 S.W. Huntoon St., Herman’s is taking orders for a Christmas meal package that includes a choice of smoked or roasted turkey, boneless glazed ham, smoked pulled pork or smoked brisket. Along with choice of meat, each meal comes with green beans, mashed potatoes and stuffing. Add cobbler or pie for an additional cost.
A meal package feeds 10. Prices range from $73 to $84 based on meat choice.
Seven days notice is appreciated for holiday meal orders. Order at 785-273-8481 by Dec. 17 for pick up before 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Hy-Vee
Hy-Vee at 2951 S.W. Wanamaker Road is offering premade holiday meals with traditional choices like turkey, ham, or prime rib and sides. Other options include chicken alfredo, hickory house smoked meats, charcuterie trays and more.
Prices start at $17/person for meat and sides. Hy-Vee also offers a variety of order-ahead desserts, including pies, cookies and cheesecake.

Kiku Japanese Steak House
Kiku’s will open during its regular business hours noon to 9:30 PM on Christmas Day for diners who prefer to avoid the cooking and cleanup. Serving grilled-to-order meats, Japanese entrees and sushi, the Kiku experience provides dinner and a show as a chef prepares dishes on an open grill in front of guests.

Oriental Express
Located at 5954 S.W. 29th St., Oriental Express will be open for business on Christmas Day for dine-in, carry out or drive thru meals from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. The restaurant offers authentic Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai cuisine, as well as a sushi bar.

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery
Perkins Bakery at 1720 S.W. Wanamaker Road will offer a variety of order-ahead pies and cookies for your holiday dessert needs. From cream, meringue, silk and fruit pies to an assortment of cookie flavors, Perkins has you covered.
Prices start at $11. Place your custom order at 785-273-0300 before Dec. 23 for best selection, or choose from what’s available between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
