Top Gun: Maverick trailer introduced by Tom Cruise at Comic-Con

Tom Cruise has returned in the long-awaited Top Gun sequel 33 years after the original was released.

The actor made a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con as he felt it was “[his] responsibility to deliver it” to fans.

Joining Cruise in the new film is Ed Harris whose high-ranking official can be seen calling lead character Maverick – now an instructor attempting to get his head around drones – a “dinosaur”/

As hoped, Cruise rocks the bomber jacket and sunglasses alongside new cast members Glen Powell (Set yUp), Lewis Pullman and Jon Hamm.

It’s Miles Teller who’s set to make waves in the film as Maverick’s new protege and the song of Goose, who was played in the original by Anthony Edwards.

Val Kilmer also reprises his role of Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.

Top Gun: Maverick, directed by Oblivion’s Joseph Kosinski, is released 17 July 2020.
