Top Gun: Maverick star Lewis Pullman has recalled "one of the grossest moments" of his life, which happened on the set of the eagerly anticipated sequel.

In the new issue of Empire magazine, the actor – who plays pilot trainee Bob in the movie – remembered one of the first times he was taken out by his flight instructor Chuck, and how his intense fear of heights and full stomach at the time led to a rather disgusting experience.

"I mean, I'm sort of scared of the top level of a ladder, but I can handle it," Pullman began. "I had no idea what I was in for. We were doing a spiral for ten minutes, and I puke. But I'm holding it in my mouth because it's gonna spray-paint [the] cockpit.

"I can't tell [Chuck] because the microphone is in my mouth, so I swallowed," he concluded. Well, no-one can argue that he wasn't committed to the scene that day.

In Top Gun: Maverick, Pullman shares the screen with Westworld actor Ed Harris, Mad Men's Jon Hamm, Snowpiercer's Jennifer Connelly, Whiplash star Miles Teller and, of course, Tom Cruise, who is back as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell.

Batman's Val Kilmer is also set to make an appearance as Mitchell's former rival-turned-friend Admiral Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky from the original 1986 film.

Top Gun: Maverick will now arrive in cinemas on November 19, 2021.
