Top concerts playing Phoenix in November: Doja Cat, Lainey Wilson, Pitbull, Kim Petras

It seems a lot of people pegged November as the perfect time to launch a music festival in metro Phoenix.

We’ve got three inaugural music fests in our November concert picks, including two on the same weekend (Dreamy Draw at Scottsdale Civic Center and Luna del Lago in Peoria) and one a little later in the month (Desert Sky at Wild Horse Pass).

November also brings its share of huge arena concerts to metro Phoenix. Doja Cat, Lauryn Hill, Los Tigres del Norte, Marca MP and the Trilogy Tour with Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin are playing Footprint Center while Desert Diamond Arena host Pancho Barraza and Lauren Daigle.

Here’s a look at those and other Phoenix concert announcements for November 2023.

Hozier

The multiplatinum singer-songwriter from Ireland is joined by special guest Madison Cunningham on a tour in support of this year's "Unreal Unearth" album, his third release to debut in the U.S. Top 5. Hozier's best-known song here in the States is his 13-times-platinum breakthrough single, the suitably gospel-tinged "Take Me to Church."

Kim Petras

Adding to the excitement surrounding her Feed the Beast World Tour, the Grammy-winning international pop star recently released her long awaited, previously shelved "Problematique" album as a surprise for fans. The album is 10 tracks of escapist pop inspired by French house music and Parisian soundscapes.

Bronco and Los Invasores de Nuevo León

Bronco's modern, synthesizer-driven take on regional Mexican music earned the grupero band international recognition in the '80s and '90s. They're on a co-headlining tour with kindred spirits Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon.

Smokey Robinson

He helped establish Motown Records as the Sound of Young America. In addition to leading the Miracles through 26 Top 40 singles, including such classics as "The Tears of a Clown," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" and the label's first gold record, "Shop Around," with his breathtaking vocals, Robinson wrote countless hits for other Motown acts, from the Temptations' "My Girl" to Marvin Gaye's "Ain't That Peculiar."

Dreamy Draw Festival

The inaugural Dreamy Draw Festival is topped by indie-folk heroes Lord Huron and Midland, an amazing band with Tucson roots whose recent set at Country Thunder Arizona was a textbook case of everything a country band should be but rarely is in 2023. Other highlights include Margo Price, Trampled by Turtles and Hailey Whitters, another stunning Country Thunder standout.

Luna del Lago

The inaugural Luna del Lago Festival brings 22 local and national acts to Pleasant Harbor at Lake Pleasant for a three-day blowout by the man behind the late, lamented Apache Lake Music Festival, Brannon Kleinlein. Friday's bill is topped by Monophonics and the Black Moods. Saturday is topped by Ballyhoo! and Arise Roots. Spafford and Brothers Comatose close things out on Sunday evening.

Pancho Barraza

This regional Mexican music star became involved in traditional norteño and banda music after moving to Mazatlán and working with Banda San Sebastian and Banda Camino. He established himself as a solo artist when his 1995 debut, "Mis Canciones de Amor," became a hit. He's here on the Leyenda en Vida Tour.

Marca MP

Mexico’s Marca MP play romantic songs and old-fashioned corridos pared down to guitars, bass and tuba, making for minimalist framework and an intense musical experience. Their Becky G collaboration “Ya Acabó” has earned more than 127 million views on YouTube. They're playing downtown Phoenix on their US Brindo tour.

Atif Aslam

A former member of the Pakistani pop group Jal, the playback singer, songwriter and actor, known for his vocal belting technique, was awarded a star on the Dubai Walk of Fame and named the best singer in Pakistan in 2019.

Men I Trust

If you're into stuff that you makes you reach for words like "spellbinding" or "mesmerizing" to describe the way it makes you feel? Men I Trust, a synth-driven dream-pop band from Quebec led by Emmanuelle Proulx, whose intoxicating vocals are the perfect vehicle to drive her music deep inside if not your soul then at least your memory banks, is who you want to see.

Fidlar and the Frights

Fidlar's latest single, "Nudge," is an electrifying exercise in holding back until it's time to pounce and just letting it rip at full intensity with a wall of distorted guitars for an explosive climax fit to make Nirvana blush. "That's Life," the EP that marked their return to active duty early this year after four years of silence, was just as cathartic. And they're touring with the Frights, a brilliant double header.

Pierce the Veil

The San Diego rockers are touring on "The Jaws of Life," their first release in seven years, which sent their most successful single yet, a song called "Emergency Contact," to No. 1 on the Billboard alternative airplay chart. The Line of Best Fit praised the albums songs for "bridging angst and hope as they navigate personal crises."

Doja Cat

The Grammy-winning global superstar is on her first arena tour of North America, joined by special guest Doechii. The Scarlet Tour is named for her fourth studio release, which hit the charts in late September after sending a lead single titled "Paint the Town Red" to the top of Billboard's Hot 100. It's her second No. 1. The first was a remix of "Say So" with Nicki Minaj.

Stephen Sanchez

If Stephen Sanchez has even heard a record made since 1962, he's clearly not the type to let that compromise the beamed-in-from-another-era charms of "Angel Face," a deeply soulful concept album in which a character known as the Troubadour Sanchez rises to fame in 1958. As DIY magazine noted, "His voice is stunning, a far-reaching, emotive vibrato evoking Roy Orbison."

The Rose

The Korean pop-rock sensations are on a Heal Together World Tour in support of a forthcoming album titled "Heal." After building a buzz in 2017 with the soft-rock hit “Sorry,” they were named one of the New K-Pop Artists to Watch by Billboard, going on to top the iTunes K-Pop Albums chart with "Void" before taking a break to accommodate several members’ mandatory Korean military service.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons: The Last Encores

Frankie Valli was among the most successful voices of the early 1960s as the singer at the helm of the Four Seasons. A lifetime later, he's a hotter ticket than he'd been in decades thanks to the success of "Jersey Boys," the Tony-winning musical that chronicles the life and times of Valli and his group. His hits include "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You."

Luis Angel 'El Flaco' & Luis Antonio Lopez 'El Mimoso'

El Flaco is a banda singer who grew up in Sinaloa, Mexico. El Mimoso is a Mexican norteño/banda singer and former member of Banda El Recodo. This is their first time touring together, although they did join forces on an album-length collaboration titled "La Textilera" in 2021.

Faye Webster

The acclaimed singer-songwriter made the rounds of year-end critics lists — and deservedly so — for "I Know I'm Funny Ha Ha." Among the publications naming Webster to their Best of 2021 list were NPR, Pitchfork, Consequence and the New Yorker, which wrote that the album "astounds with its aloofness and candid observations" while "the music sweeps you up into her spiral of overthinking."

Lauren Daigle

The contemporary Christian music star is joined on the Kaleidoscope Tour by special guest Victory Boyd. The tour is in support of a self-titled album released in September that became her third consecutive release to top the Billboard Christian albums chart led by the chart-topping lead single "Thank God I Do."

Los Tigres del Norte

Based in San Jose, California, these norteño sensations have been hailed as Latin music's "greatest statesmen" by the New York Times, selling millions of records, regularly topping Billboard's Latin music charts and packing stadiums. All Music Guide goes further, saying they "should be compared to Bob Dylan, U2, or the Clash." They've earned five Latin Grammys and done "MTV Unplugged," where they were joined by Calle 13, Zack de la Rocha, Juanes and Paulina Rubio. This is a reunion tour.

Banda Cuisillos y Jose Manuel Figueroa

Formed in 1987 by a teenage clarinetist named Arturo Macías, Banda Cuisillos are a Mexican banda group from the city of Tala, Jalisco. They're well-known for wearing Native American costumes in their stage show and their album art in tribute to their ethnic heritage. This is a co-headlining show with regional Mexican music star Jose Manuel Figueroa.

The Reunion Tour

Gospel star Kirk Franklin is the main attraction on a package tour featuring multiple gospel powerhouses joining forces for an unforgettable night of praise and worship. Franklin is joined by Tye Tribbett, the Clark Sisters, David and Tamela Mann and Israel Houghton for a soul-stirring concert that will uplift your spirit and leave you feeling inspired.

Moneybagg Yo

The Memphis rapper, known for his melodic blend of trap and Southern hip-hop, topped the Billboard album charts in 2021 with his most recent studio release, "A Gangta's Pain," which went on to be certified platinum. More recently, he cracked the Top 10 with his 16th mixtape, "Hard to Love." His best known-hits include "Said Sum," "Time Today" and "Wockesha."

The National

The indie-rock veterans arrive in support of two new albums, the brilliantly titled "First Two Pages of Frankenstein" and the surprise release that followed five months later, "Laugh Track." They've been playing songs from both releases as well as a healthy assortment of deep cuts alongside such crowd-pleasing staples "Bloodbuzz Ohio," "Graceless" and "Fake Empire" in a career-spanning set.

Laufey

The Icelandic singer-cellist is touring the States in support of "Bewitched," a sophomore album whose modern spin on jazz became her U.S. breakthrough, hitting No. 23 on Billboard's album chart. NME said the album "enchants in its own beautiful, unique way," praising Laufey's "richly detailed orchestral arrangements and her masterful musicality."

Lauryn Hill

The five-time Grammy winner arrives on a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," a hip-hop masterpiece whose impact on music, fashion and culture is immeasurable and continues to influence the world’s biggest artists. The diamond-certified triumph was the first hip-hop album to pick up Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.

REO Speedwagon spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's album chart with 1980's 10-times-platinum "Hi Infidelity," which spawned the platinum chart-topper "Keep on Loving You" and the Top 5 "Take It on the Run." Other hits include "Don't Let Him Go," "In Your Letter," "Keep the Fire Burnin'," "One Lonely Night," "That Ain't Love" and a second chart-topping smash, "Can't Fight This Feeling."

Jelly Roll and Brantley Gilbert

So keep it tuned to the station or the free Audacy app. Jelly Roll is a country-rap sensation, an enigmatic force of nature who speaks freely of his darkest hours as a pathway to enlightenment, telling the crowd at this year's Eric Church tour that he's all about “real music for people with problems."

Maria Jose

This Mexican singer and dancer launched her career started at 15 when she joined the Mexican band Kabah on vocals in the '90s. Since leaving Kabah in 2006, Jose has gone on to successful solo career, releasing six studio albums, including this year's "Libertad." Her best-known songs include the Ivy Queen collaboration "Las Que Se Ponen Bien La Falda."

The Japanese House

The Japanese House is Amber Bain, an English indie-pop musician who's touring the States in support of "In the End It Always Does," a sophomore effort whose dreamy textures are the perfect backdrop to her haunting vocals. As the Independent wrote, "It's an album that cools and shimmers its way through a delicious range of nuanced moods and subtly layered musical ideas."

Goldfinger and Authority Zero

Goldfinger rocked the '90s ska revival with punkish abandon on "Here in Your Bedroom," gradually moving away from the ska in favor of a more straightforward punk approach. They're co-headlining Tempe's Marquee Theatre with local legends Authority Zero, whose latest album, "Ollie Ollie Oxen Free," found them defying the passage of time since their breakthrough, "A Passage in Time."

Desert Sky Music Fetival

The bill is topped Lainey Wilson, the Country Music Association's reigning Female Vocalist and New Artist of the Year, who also picked up Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year from the Academy of Country Music. She's joined by Parmalee, who bring three Billboard Country Airplay chart-toppers to the mix, with Michael Ray, Jackson Dean and Matt Farris rounding out the bill.

The Mavericks

The Mavericks are known for their eclectic mix of country, rock, and Latin music. They're also known for being blessed with one of country music's most distinctive vocalists in Raul Malo, whose soulful Roy Orbison-esque tenor is a wonder to behold. "En Español" is their Spanish-language album, with highlights ranging from tender boleros to mariachi and reimagined Afro-Cuban classics.

John Fogerty

He fronted CCR, whose hits include such American rock and roll classics as "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Travelin' Band," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend," "Run Through the Jungle," "Lookin' Out My Back Door," "Hey Tonight," "Sweet Hitch-hiker," "Fortunate Son" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" The Trilogy Tour

Global superstars Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin and Pitbull are bringing the Trilogy Tour — with a headlining set from each artist — to Phoenix. This is the first time these three acts have shared a stage. In a news release, Pitbull said, “It’s a true honor to tour with Enrique and Ricky, two music icons, who broke global music barriers for our culture and opened doors for someone like myself.”

Edgardo Nunez

The Phoenix-based Nunez, who grew up in Sinaloa, Mexico, first appeared on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in 2022 when his collaboration with Fuerza Regida on “Billete Grande" hit No. 16. Nunez made his first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year with a feature on the Peso Pluma song “VVS.” His eighth album, "No Ando Solo," was released in April through Genesis Records.

Jeff Rosenstock

Jeff Rosenstock was every bit as animated as expected when he took stage at last year's Zona Fest, throwing his entire body into the performance with reckless abandon while leading his bandmates through highlights as raucous as “Scram!” and “Perfect Sound Whatever.” He's touring on a great new album titled "Hellmode," expanding the scope of his sound without abandoning that urgency.

Royal Blood

This U.K.-based stoner-rock duo’s self-titled debut rocked some serious black-light-poster-compatible riffs with the headbanging swagger of Led Zeppelin. Nine years later, they're touring the States in support of an album called "Back to the Water Below," where they offset the riff-heavy rocking with surprisingly tender downshifts that occasionally echo the dreamier side of John Lennon.
