The Coachella Valley is home to a number of events and activities to take part in during the hot summer months. In anticipation for these events, we've put together a list of things happening this week.

With a multitude of acts, this festive show is sure to captivate the senses through its visuals and musical components.

You must be 21 years or older to attend.

Enjoy a night soak under the stars with this screening of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie." Tickets can be pre-purchased at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center's front desk during the event until they sell out. Guests are encouraged to bring towels to sit on grass areas as poolside seating is limited. Slides will be open from 7:30 to 8 p.m., and snacks and treats will be sold onsite by food truck vendors. No outside chairs/furniture and food or beverages are allowed (except for bottled water).

Kool & The Gang

American R&B, soul, and funk band Kool & The Gang is set to play at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage this Saturday. Officially launched in 1969, and with several hit songs like "Celebration," "Cherish," "Jungle Boogie" and more, Kool & The Gang have garnered various accolades throughout the group's extensive career. The group continues to entertain fans across the globe through their live performances and will now do so in the desert.

The Camelot Theatre at the Palm Springs Cultural Center will celebrate over 100 years of Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini with its upcoming Fellini Retrospective. Fellini's films are known for his surreal, dream-like imager, eccentric characters and social critique. Enjoy some Italian food and drink specials, and mingle with others before the 1955 film "Il Bidone" screening.
