The Coachella Valley is home to a number of events and activities to take part in during the hot summer months. In anticipation for these events, we've put together a list of things happening this week.

Enjoy a three-course brunch prepared by Chef David Horgen at the Palm Springs Underground inspired by the nostalgia of summer camp. With free-flowing mimosas and bloody marys included as part of your ticket purchase. Summer Heat 'The Seven Year Itch' Film Screening

Deserted Films is continuing its Summer Heat film series screenings at the Historic Camelot Theatre in Palm Springs. Join Deserted Films for their showing of "The Seven Year Itch" with a live introduction and film ephemera presented by Devin Orgeron. Enjoy the air conditioning and have a cold drink as you watch the masterfully played comedic role of Marilyn Monroe in this silly romance film that produced one of Hollywood's most iconic images.

Summer Bioblitz

From Sunday, July 23 to Saturday, July 29, Friends of the Desert is hosting a week-long Summer Bioblitz encouraging participants to explore the biodiversity found in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. With over 2,400 species and counting, you can join the ongoing efforts to find and document the species found in the Monument by taking part in this opportunity to get involved in conservation and contribute to genuine scientific research. Participants of all ages are encouraged to go outside and explore any of the 280+ miles of designated trails in the Monument while observing, identifying and counting plant and animal species using the free smartphone app iNaturalist. Photos taken during your explorations can also be uploaded to iNaturalist.org. Participants will also have the opportunity to hike with local researchers and specialists one day during the Summer Bioblitz event either on Tuesday, July 25 or Saturday, July 29.

Enjoy this film screening of the 1997 biographical drama about the life and career of beloved Mexican-American artist Selena Quintanilla. Played by Jennifer Lopez, "Selena" explores the life and legacy left behind by one of the most celebrated Latin artists who helped to redefine Latin music and its subgenres. Register now to watch this film written and directed by Gregory Nava to revisit the story of Selena from her beginnings playing in small venues at a young age to later reaching major success in the Spanish-speaking market until her tragic murder at the age of 23. Cocktail Class and Culinary Crafting

The Chef's Wives club is presenting a cocktail class and culinary crafting session this Thursday at the Art Major Studio in La Quinta. Participants will be provided with instructions on how to prepare a limoncillo summer spritzer as well as work on crafting their own Italian tile coasters. All materials needed to participate will be provided with the purchase of your ticket.

This upcoming tour is in support of Adams’ 15th studio album, "So Happy It Hurts," which was released in March 2022. For over 40 years, Adams has continued to entertain audiences with his energetic vocals and stage presence.

Visit the Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa to celebrate the career of one of music history's most praised and successful artists. A Night of Bowie is a musical celebration of David Bowie's extensive list of memorable hits spanning his four decades in the industry. With a focus on his peak years from the early 70s (though not exclusively) listen to singer Syl Thompson and his band of musicians pay tribute to some of Bowie’s genre-defying musical styles. With visuals inspired by Bowie's Heathen/Reality tour, Bowie fans are invited to an evening of performance that pays homage to Bowie’s musical style and persona.

Bloody Gums Presents: 'Summer Heat'

Bloody Gums, a collective of young Los Angeles creatives, is presenting their show "Summer Heat," a full-day installation of art, live music and vendors, at The Saguaro in Palm Springs this weekend. The interactive, multimedia event will take place all around The Saguro's iconic retro-style architecture and will feature the work of artists who aren't always represented in the mainstream. Bloody Gums is highlighting the work of creatives from working-class families, children of immigrants, and those who draw inspiration from their cultural environments while also drawing from pop culture influences. This art show and night market will feature a range of artists such as Coachella Valley locals Carlos Ramirez and Lazaro Sanchez to Riverside-based artist Martin Sanchez of Tios Tacos.
