This family-friendly convention encourages you to play board games, card games, role-playing games, social games and more. There'll be over 1,100 board games to choose from, plus you can learn new card games, test demos and participate in tournaments.

2. Art After Dark: Night at the Haunted Museum

It's Halloween weekend and festivities abound. Wear your Halloween costume and kick off Halloween weekend in one of the country's most haunted museums. This month's Art After Dark includes self-guided ghost tours, tarot card readings, performances from Cin City Burlesque and music from DJ Krispy. Food and drinks for purchase.

3. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

“The Greatest Show on Earth” hits town with a spectacle of superhuman feats, immersive 360-degree environment and acts on a high wire, trapeze, bicycle and more. The revamped circus no longer features clowns or animals; instead, you'll be wowed by performers pushing the limits of their crafts in a jaw-dropping spectacle.

4. Ohio Renaissance Festival final weekend

Willy-Nilly-on-the-Wash will soon close the drawbridge on another season, but you have one last opportunity to feast on giant turkey legs while watching full armored jousting or laughing along at The Mudde Show. Find unique gifts from more than 150 artisans, enjoy games, rides and more than 100 shows daily. This weekend is Tricks or Treats Weekend, where the village is decorated for the holiday, and wee ones ages 12-under get in free.

5. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra: Ring Without Words

Fantasy kingdoms, scandalous love affairs, dwarfs, giants and powerful music. We aren't talking Tolkien or "Game of Thrones." We're going straight to the OG of epics, Richard Wagner's "The Ring Without Words." Conductor James Gaffigan leads the CSO in a concert compilation of Wagner's four epic operas.

6. Kentucky Symphony Orchestra: Dr. Divertimento

South of the river, the KYSO opens its season with over 200 years of unplugged party music. While not quite the zaniness of Tom Lehrer or Weird Al Yankovic, we think Dr. Demento would approve of the divertimenti – light-hearted orchestral entertainment – which includes Mozart, Bartok, Stravinsky and Bernstein.
