AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 proved to be a big success, at least in terms of ticket sales.
During the June 25 pay-per-view, AEW CEO Tony Khan announced that, at $1.2 million, the event was the biggest live gate in AEW history. He also stated that the show was one of the top three biggest live gates in wrestling history in Canada.

$1.2 million (USD), and it's one of the top 3 biggest live gates in the history of pro wrestling in Canada!

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door was held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Per WrestleTix, over 13,500 tickets were sold for the event.
Forbidden Door’s record will likely stand until AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium on August 27; Khan previously stated that the show sold roughly 65,000 tickets, which equates to about a $8 million gate.
During the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door post-show media scrum, Khan also stated that the buys for the pay-per-view were up from both Forbidden Door 2022 and AEW Double or Nothing 2023.
