Tony Danza Talks “Taxi” Stars' Monthly Zoom Meetings Ahead of Their Big Reunion on “The View” (Exclusive)

Danza, Danny DeVito, Carol Kane, Marilu Henner, Judd Hirsh and Christopher Lloyd will reunite on screen on Dec. 11

Taxi fans have a bit of nostalgia coming their way.

Stars of the iconic '70s TV sitcom can tune in to one of the cast’s many reunions this month, according to Tony Danza. The actor, 72, tells PEOPLE the cast’s private reunions will become public Dec. 11 on The View.

“Well, we've been getting together on a Zoom every month for three, four years now and we see each other a lot,” he said at Thursday's Power Book III: Raising Kanan premiere. “Danny [DeVito] and Marilu [Henner] were here doing a play in New York. Chris was in town. Carol [Kane] lives here so I see her a lot. Judd [Hirsch], is the most energetic ... I don't know how old he is. He's incredible. In fact, he put together the get together on The View.”

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg previously teased the news, too, revealing that Hirsch called her to inquire about a slot on the daytime talk show. “He called, he said listen, we are all gonna be in town. It’s the 45th anniversary, and we’re all in town because we’re seeing Danny’s show on Broadway. Could you get us on The View? We should get on The View,” Goldberg said on an episode of The View: Behind the Table podcast.

According to Goldberg, the reunion segment has already been filmed on a Taxi-themed set and features Hirsch, Danza, Henner, DeVito, Kane and Christopher Lloyd.

“We do really fun stuff on this show. It seems sometimes, I think to us, because we talk about a lot of things going on in the world,” Goldberg added. “But every so often we do something fabulous and out there. And this was fabulous and out there.”

It won’t be the first time fans get a glimpse into the cast’s ongoing friendship. Danza shared a peek into the off-Zoom Taxi reunions past in May when he grabbed lunch in New York City with Kane, Hirsch and Lloyd.

“Love these people so much! #oldfriends #taxi,” Danza posted on social media. "Another great shot from a great hang!"

The Taxi reunion will be shown Dec. 11 on The View, which airs at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
