Toni Braxton (finally!) confirms her engagement to Birdman

The new trailer for Braxton Family Values features the usual family drama, but also some exciting news for Toni Braxton. The singer uses the clip to confirm her much-speculated-on engagement to Birdman.

A preview of the upcoming season of the show, which premieres in March on WETV, shared on the show’s Twitter account Saturday, features the “Un-Break My Heart” singer announcing the happy news to her family and showing off her ring.

As the Shade Room pointed out, Toni’s sister, Tamar Braxton, dished on a September 2017 episode of The Wendy Williams Show that she thought Toni and Birdman were already married. Tamar explained that their mother had recently suffered a stroke, and that Birdman was there “the whole time.”

“So I think that’s my brother-in-law, I do,” Tamar insisted. “I do. I think they eloped. No, I think they eloped. Cause he was there in the way, like, a brother-in-law would be there. I’m telling you … they is married.”

Toni has been wearing a ring on the traditional finger for a wedding ring for months, too. However, she brushed off Tamar’s comments.

“Well, you know, I am not married, unlike my big mouth sister Tamar has been saying everywhere,” Toni, 50, told Good Morning America last month. “I’m definitely not married.” She never said the two were engaged, but said that they were “working together” — with a wink.

The singer and rapper first collaborated on the 2002 song “Baby You Can Do It,” then seemed to confirm a relationship in June 2016, when they attended the BET Awards together. She was previously married to Mint Condition’s Keri Lewis, from 2001 to 2013, with whom she shares two teen sons, Denim and Diezel.
