Tommy Flanagan Shares Behind-The-Scenes Footage From His New Show 'Wu Assassins'

Tommy Flanagan has shared some more backstage footage from his new show, Netflix's "Wu Assassins."

Flanagan In Full Effect

Flanagan's post about the show embedded a tweet from Joanna Maria, who gushed about Flanagan's role in the martial arts series.

Flanagan wrote "Get your Wu on!" and hashtagged the series title, as well as gave a shout-out to other actors and crew members from the show.

Fans Approve of 'Wu Assassins'

Flanagan's again playing a powerful figure in this fantasy-action mashup, this time as an international crime boss.

"TommyFlanagan as 'Alec McCullough' - powerful, full of charisma, emotional and great scene stealing role!," Joanna Maria wrote.

"If you still haven't seen this cool martial arts & fantasy Netflix series, do it as soon as possible!," she says.

Fired Up

Byron Mann, who plays "Uncle Six" on the show, tweeted also, and referred to a fight sequence in episode 4 that summed up his time on "Wu Assassins."

"It's earth-shattering," he says of the scene.

Indonesian Martial Arts On Display

Several different scenes play out in the minute-long clip, including some where the camera gives off the impression that people are fighting upside-down.

Indonesian martial arts forms like Kali and Silat are utilized in the series, fight coordinator Dan Rizzuto says in the clip.

Time will tell whether "Wu Assassins" will live to see a Season 2, but the odds are good given the positive press it's received.
