Tommy DeVito became a breakout star after his NFL debut in October 2023, and he’s had his agent, Sean Stellato, cheering him on throughout the ride

Tommy DeVito may be the poster child for a New Jersey-bred Italian, but behind him is his even more enigmatic Italian agent, Sean Stellato.

The New York Giants quarterback made his NFL debut in Week 8 of the 2023 season, but it wasn’t until December that DeVito and his enthusiastic agent made headlines when Stellato showed up to a Monday Night Football game wearing a pinstriped suit and matching fedora.

The outfit, which reminded Peyton Manning of the character Johnny Fontane in The Godfather, made viewers do a double take when they saw Stellato cheering on DeVito in the stands.

“[I’m] just very excited for the moment right now,” Stellato said on The Pat McAfee Show a few days after the game, which saw a win for the Giants thanks to the rookie quarterback. “Tommy has taken the bull by the horns, a testament to where he’s came from, where he is, eating humble pie and he’s got a boulder of cutlets on his shoulder.”

DeVito also praised his agent, thanking him for helping him get this far in his career.

“Sean is always in my corner and will do whatever it takes to help me with my career on and off the field,” DeVito told The Salem News in November 2023. “He is the Italian Stallion of sports agents.”

So who is Tommy DeVito’s agent? Here’s everything to know about Sean Stellato and his viral sideline moment.

He played football in college

Before he became known as the “Italian Stallion” of football agents, Stellato was an athlete himself. He was raised in Salem, Massachusetts, and attended Marist College, where he was the wide receiver on the sponsored football team.

Though he didn’t end up going professional, Stellato told Pat McAfee that if he could still play, he would be, leading him to become an agent to stay “as close to the game” as possible.

He has his own company

Stellato had the idea of becoming an agent after watching 1996’s Jerry Maguire and thinking that would be something he was interested in. Now, he told McAfee, he’s found his passion in representing players.

He founded his company, SES Sports, in 2013 and continues to serve as the president and sole agent. During his 18 years as an agent, Stellato has represented athletes including former New England Patriots tackle Joe Vellano and punter Ryan Allen, former San Francisco 49ers running back Shaun Draughn and former Washington Commanders running back Alfred Morris.

The accomplished agent told Item Live in November 2023 that he sees his job as not only helping his clients find success on the field, but also creating opportunities for them and coaching them in life.

“There’s 1,696 active NFL players, so there’s not a lot of fish in the sea. I’ve got to assist these guys, help them fulfill their dreams and give back,” he said. “I’ve got to deliver for them, but they’ve got to take a leap of faith for me. They believe in me and know that no other agent is going to outwork me.”

He and his wife have four daughters

Stellato married his wife, Krista, on Aug. 22, 2005, and the pair have welcomed four daughters since: Gianna, Sophia, Giulietta and Siena. Stellato, who calls his wife his “soulmate,” has a strong bond with his family, and told Item Live that he hopes his hard work in his career shows his daughters that “they can accomplish anything, but never forget their roots.”

“God has blessed me with daughters. I try to be a really strong role model for them because I know they can do anything they want,” Stellato told the outlet. “I think I’m living proof that the same values my ancestors brought across the Atlantic have stayed the same from generation to generation.”

Stellato has celebrated pivotal moments in each of his daughters’ lives by their side, like when his youngest daughter, Siena, graduated from preschool in June 2023 and when Sophia competed in a national gymnastics competition in May 2023. He even attended a Taylor Swift concert with his eldest daughter, Gianna, that same month at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.

“My 4 daughters inspire me everyday to be the best and my soul mate Krista gave me a man’s greatest title…DAD!” he wrote in an Instagram caption on Father’s Day in 2023.

He is proud of his Italian heritage

One of Stellato’s defining characteristics is his Italian heritage, which he takes great pride in. He shared with The Salem News that the values he inherited from his immigrant grandparents about hard work continue to inform his everyday life — including the clients he takes on, many of whom are Italian.

Stellato said his grandfather emigrated from Sambiase on the coast of Calabria, Italy. His grandparents had $14 to their name and made a living as shoemakers.

Decades later, he made his grandparents proud when, in December 2023, he was inducted into the Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame.

“The values my ancestors carried across the Atlantic haven’t changed: hard work, faith, generosity and grit,” he said. “Those things have definitely echoed into future generations and this honor, as well as Tommy being Italian, it’s just a really proud moment for our heritage and it puts a whole extra oomph on this entire honor.”

He is close with DeVito’s family

Stellato is not only DeVito’s agent, but he has also gotten close with the entire family, including DeVito's parents Tom Sr. and Alexandra. The agent and Tom Sr. were even seen kissing each other on the cheek when the Giants scored during a game.

“What you see is what you get, the root of all this is our Italian heritage,” he said on The Pat McAfee Show of the DeVito family. “His mom and dad, Lexy and Tommy Sr., they’re great ... they’ve truly embraced me as part of their family. I’ve done the same.”

The DeVito family and Stellato even hosted a draft party together in 2023 when DeVito was signed as a third-string quarterback for the Giants.

His style has impressed football legends and fans alike

Perhaps what stands out even more than his talented clients is Stellato’s signature style consisting of a matching suit and fedora — of which he has 9, he told McAfee. He joked that his clients tell him he’s the most well-dressed agent in the game.

“My grandmother ... used to dress men and I’m the baby of three boys, and in essence, I was the daughter that my mother never had because she wanted me to look good,” he explained of his stylish roots.

He added that he wears the fedora in honor of Frank Sinatra and Rocky Balboa, though he said his wife jokes that he lived in the 1920s in a previous life.

He has even found fans in football legends like Eli and Peyton Manning, who were in awe of the agent’s pinstriped ensemble from the December game.

“He looks like Johnny Fontane from The Godfather,” Peyton said to Eli during their simulcast.
