Tom Schwartz on ‘Necessary’ Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright Separation

Tom Schwartz has now given his two cents on Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s separation. Of course, it was only a matter of time.

One by one, Jax and Brittany’s former Vanderpump Rules costars have been opining on the situation. Even though the estranged couple might be headlining The Valley these days, there was no way they’d escape commentary from their previous cast.

Reactions to the separation ranged, as one might imagine. Some fans have supposed the whole thing is a ploy, but most VPR folks don’t seem to think so. Schwartz’s response was a little more considerate than some of the other shady reactions thus far.

Schwartz thinks Jax and Brittany might be happier apart

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Schwartz made his feelings about Jax and Brittany known. “I should be careful with my words. I don’t know,” he prefaced. “Part of me thinks they’re at the point of no return. I know they’re trying to work things out and they’re giving each other space.”

He continued, “I haven’t really asked. I don’t know if they’re dating other people. I don’t know exactly what’s going on. But I think whatever is going to happen, this break was – it was necessary. And it was a long time coming. And I think some space will be good for them.”

Schwartz admitted he respected the couple due to how they were handling their coparenting situation. “Part of me hopes they make it,” he went on, “but there’s another part of me that’s like a huge proponent and champion for separation and divorce. It’s not really that sad to me. I think it’s much sadder when people stay together who are unhappy. I’m a divorce champion.”

Vanderpump Rules continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo while The Valley follows at 9/8c that same night.
