Tom Schwartz Admits Lying About Status of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright Marriage

News of Jax Taylor’s separation from Brittany Cartwright shocked everyone. Well, perhaps not everyone. Tom Schwartz may have known about the news before it hit the press.
Rumors suggested that the couple’s separation was inauthentic and merely a ploy to promote their spinoff show, The Valley. Of course, if Schwartz knew about the matter beforehand, that would suggest it was completely genuine.
But if Tom knew about his former Vanderpump Rules stars’ separation, why did he lie about it when rumors were still flying? Well, he isn’t exactly known for his honesty. Nevertheless, check out his reasoning down below.
Kristen confronts Schwartz over Jax and Brittany’s marriage
During the May 16 episode of Kristen Doute’s podcast, The Valley star blasted Schwartz, her guest, for lying about Jax and Brittany’s marriage. “I just wanted to call you out … because you were one of the first people to know about the separation,” she said. “Because you were with Jax and Brittany because Brittany told me.”
Kristen continued, “And she made sure that she said it in front of you. Because she didn’t want Jax to, like, not believe her. Or be able to spin it, when it first, first happened.” Granted, Tom had a pretty good reason for telling news outlets falsities. “Well, they asked me not to say anything,” he replied. However, Kristen wasn’t so sure.
According to Kristen’s account, Brittany was confused as to why Schwartz was telling the media something he knew wasn’t true. “Jax probably did,” Kristen said. “Because Brittany was like, ‘Wait a minute.’ Brittany was like, ‘Why is he saying that he doesn’t really know? I made sure that he knew.” Still, Schwartz maintained that both Jax and Brittany swore him to secrecy.
