Tom Sandoval wants to make amends and promises to never cheat on his future partner in the same "way" he did on Ariana Madix.

During Tuesday's episode of Nick Viall's The Viall Files podcast, the Vanderpump Rules star, 40 was joined by his friend and costar Tom Schwartz to open up about the lessons he's learned from his cheating scandal with his costar Rachel "Raquel" Leviss amid his nine year relationship with Madix.

When Schwartz admitted that the thought of setting Sandoval up with one of his loved ones "scares me," Viall asked Sandoval if he believed he was "ready to protect someone's heart" given the events that transpired in Scandoval.

"Am I ready to protect somebody's heart? Yes, of course I am," he replied. "I don't know what to say except I f---ed up, and I know that I did that. It doesn't matter the scenario, it doesn't matter. I f---ed up, and I do know that. I do love hard, I really do."

The Bravolebrity claimed that he was in a "vulnerable" state and threw not only "logic" out the window, but also "people's feelings and Ariana's feelings."

Elsewhere in the podcast, Sandoval explained he "acted out because I have such low self-worth."

He continued, "Somebody like Raquel — somebody who's in her 20s, like, doin' essentially the f---in' whipped cream f---in' bikini thing like in Varsity Blues — like, I couldn't f---ing like, I was like, 'Wow, really? Oh my God, like, I'm attractive to somebody?'"

"And I regret it, hardcore, I really do," he added, sharing how the only way he could remedy the situation was to "learn from it."

When Viall asked him to share the specifics of what he learned, Sandoval admitted it was hard to articulate the lessons he's received from the ordeal but insisted he was actively working to better himself.

"I don't know, dude. I'm just trying to be a better person, I swear to God, like I really am," he continued. "Like, I don't know what to say. What have I learned? What have I learned?! To not ever do that again. To not ever be in a nine-year f---in' relationship and end it that way. To not ever, like, cheat that way. Like, dude, I'm never gonna do that. That's never gonna happen."

"What do you mean 'cheat that way'? When you say 'cheat that way,' it implies that you might cheat a different way," Viall asked with raised eyebrows, to which Sandoval replied, "To have an affair, to have an affair!"

In March, Leviss and Sandoval made headlines when their months-long affair became public knowledge after Madix discovered an intimate video of the former SUR waitress on her then-boyfriend's phone while watching him perform.

Days later, the TomTom co-owner issued a public apology to Madix. “I made mistakes, I was selfish, and made reckless decisions that hurt somebody I love,” the Instagram statement read. “No one deserves to feel that pain so traumatically and publicly."
