Tom Sandoval Took Ballroom Lessons Hoping for Dancing with the Stars Gig

Ariana Madix taking the Dancing with the Stars gig affected the Vanderpump Rules cast in more ways than one. Naturally, the Chicago star was very happy to take on the challenge. But not all of her cast mates were going to celebrate with her.

On recent episodes of Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Scheana Shay got emotional on multiple occasions about Ariana being given the spot over her. It was understandable, given how long she had dreamed of it. The Good As Gold singer even took dance lessons to prepare for a potential offer.

But it seems that Scheana was not the only Vanderpump Rules cast member to do so. It turns out that Ariana’s ex-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, had also prepped for the role that was never offered.

According to Scheana, Ariana took the role to spite Sandoval

Scheana spoke on the matter during a recent episode of the Vanderpump Rules After Show. A prior conversation with Ariana revealed that she indeed took the role with a message to her ex in mind.

According to Scheana, Ariana told her taking the role was in part a retaliation to Sandoval. She said, “When I first heard the rumor, I called her and was like, ‘wait, is this a thing?’ And she’s like, ‘no, I mean they’re pitching me for it but it’s such a f–k you to Tom because he’s always wanted to do that show too.'”

On a separate set, Sandoval admitted that he dreamed of a spot on Dancing with the Stars.

“I actually took ballroom lessons and everything,” the disgraced reality TV star said.

Tom Schwartz was seated with Sandoval and suggested a new name for the show. “What about, Dancing with the Fallen Stars?” he joked.

In that case, Sandoval would be the perfect candidate. And doesn’t Ariana’s enthusiasm for the competition make a lot more sense now?
