“The Masked Singer” took us to the Super Bowl on Wednesday, October 4 with its “NFL Night” episode on FOX. Five mystery celebrities sang hits performed at various halftime shows and parties, but it was Diver sent packing after his performance of “I Ain’t Worried” by OneRepublic from Super Bowl XLVII (Pregame NFL Tailgate Party). The deep sea explorer was unmasked to reveal actor and “Vanderpump Rules” star Tom Sandoval.

“It was so much fun,” the reality TV star told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “Being able to come out here and perform behind the mask without being judged, just being judged on my performance, it was really nice.” When asked if it was difficult to come on this show after the tough year he’s had in the media, Sandoval revealed, “I felt protected under the mask. This costume is incredible. There’s so many talented people here, I’m just honored to be part of it.”

Before Sandoval unmasked the panelists submitted one final guess for who they thought was hiding inside the Diver costume. Miraculously, Ken Jeong was correct for the second week in a row and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg followed his lead. Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger both guessed “The Jersey Shore’s” DJ Pauly D.

In his original clue package Diver revealed, “Diving into a completely different persona feels like a nice escape. I’ve been everyone’s favorite person to hate and, to be honest, I get it. I’m the first to admit I’ve made mistakes, but honestly, I did it for love. It hurts when I get judged by people who’ve never even met me and I become a scapegoat for every bad dude they’ve ever known. But I’m hoping all that will melt away when I hit the stage. Getting to share my voice without the preconceived notion of who I am is really what I need right now. So tonight, I’m ready to get my head in the game because I’m not ready to go back to the real world just yet.” Visual clues in his package included “The Masked Singer Post” newspaper reading, “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!”, an hour glass, a knight’s armor with lions engraved on it, a compass pointed towards the Midwest (MW) and I may have seen a field in the distance with a capital “H” on it (possibly football or baseball).
