Just when you think it’s safe to return to SUR… Tom Sandoval, who was doing so well, pivoted back into his villain era by doubling down with Scheana Shay, James Kennedy, Jax Taylor, and Katie Maloney! Will it ever end? Honestly, probably not, because it has become extremely clear that it is hard for the TomTom owner to accept responsibility for his part in the affair. We all know Tom is a terrible actor, but for a split second, I thought he was going to get aboard the apology train and do his rounds. Instead, he boarded the 1:10 to delulu land and continued to chug along to his ultimate demise.

Sandy is going to blow

The latest episode of Vanderpump Rules showed Tom losing his cool on literally everyone. It was pretty entertaining, but you can start to see the frustration on both his and other’s faces. How is Tom not getting that all he has to do is apologize for hurting people through his intentional actions? During a scene at the bar with the entire cast, Scheana tries to confront Sandoval and help him apologize to the group. The mother of one asks for the singer to take a large step down from his pedestal and just acknowledge he hurt people, specifically Katie and Rachel Leviss.

But naturally, Sandy only sees this line of chit-chat as an attack. He pushes himself back from the bar and legitimately throws an adult-size tantrum. Tom is sick and tired of being a villain just as much as we are sick and tired of him being the villain. But you can’t just have your fairy godmother come down from the sky and poof it all away with an apology, so the saga continues. I couldn’t believe my eyes that Tom missed that he was being offered a redemption arc on a silver platter by Scheana and instead just turned up his nose at it.

Pool party ick

It didn’t help Sandoval’s look to throw a singles pool party in the same pool he hooked up with Rachel, and it also didn’t help that he had his eyes set on a few of the girls. I very much felt like I was watching the birth of a new supervillain come out of the chlorinated lagoon. As he chummed the water with tiki drinks and slowly moved through the current, he misstepped and showed his cards too early.

He failed to impress the girls as he shared every detail about why he was single in the most awkward way possible. It almost felt like a bad horror movie, and all I wanted to do was scream at the TV, “Run!” to the blonde woman in the pool. The whole scene felt very reminiscent of a casting call couch, and I almost wish Bravo hadn’t put the scene in because it did Tom no favors.

Glimmer of hope

I will give credit where credit is due, so kudos to Tom for trying to apologize to Katie after he reevaluated what Scheana had said to him the night before. Sadly, Katie just word vomits everything she has ever wanted to say to Sandy, including, “For me, apologies are just like words. At the end of the day, Tom, like you fucked up. It’s fathomless to carry on in an affair like that.” Their disdain for one another is equal, so their quips were somewhat enjoyable. Even though Tom didn’t get to clear the air with Katie, he did apologize, and that was a major first step.

Could more apologies be around the corner? I reckon there could be if Scheana continues to prod Tom and he takes her advice. If he chooses to stay the course I am going to need more interactions from Jax because the OG villain is the only one who could ever tell Sandy when he was acting like a fool. But for now, he is still a villain in this story so I wouldn’t be accepting any apples or a glowing spindle from Tom for now.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK TOM WILL REMAIN A VANDERPUMP RULES VILLAIN, OR WILL HE BE FORGIVEN FOR HIS SINS?
