Tom Holland, Zendaya, & More Pay Tribute to the Actor's Late Dog Tessa

Tessa, Tom Holland's beloved Staffy dog, died earlier this month, and the star, along with his partner Zendaya, are honoring the memory of the canine friend by posting the sweetest tributes to social media.

Earlier this month, Tom Holland's father, Dominic Holland, was the first to break the news of Tessa's passing over on Patreon. On April 5, while announcing her death, he posted his own tribute to Tessa, chronicling "the final lap of the life of a remarkable little dog who had come to dominate my family." In the post, he also claimed Tessa “was the only Holland who everyone loved all of the time.”

Tom Holland's own tribute to Tessa arrived on April 21, 2024. The star took to Instagram to post a closeup photo of Tessa in bed, with her paws covering some of her face. "Missing my lady," the Spider-Man actor captioned the post alongside a red heart emoji.

On his Instagram stories, Holland shared another photo of Tessa, linking to a follow-up update posted by his father on April 19, where the family revealed they had planted a tree in honor of the dog in front of the Holland family house's garden, where they had also scattered her ashes. The location of the tree, officially referred to as "Tessa's tree," was chosen "for all the world to see, share, and enjoy."

Since Holland got her in the summer of 2014, which is before he was even cast as Spider-Man, Tessa quickly became a fixture on his Instagram account. Just last month, the beloved Staffy made a cameo in a video recap of a recent event held in London by Holland's charity organization, The Brothers Trust.

It's clear how much Tessa meant to Holland, as she was present at every event she could with the star — from family golf outings to premieres. In 2017, Holland's parents even commissioned a custom portrait of Tessa to give the actor as a gift. His father's Instagram account also housed Tessa's updates galore in recent years.

Tessa, who died just before her 10th birthday next month, is being remembered not only by the Holland family but also by Zendaya. Using her own pup's Instagram account, the Challengers star penned a sweet message to Tessa, sharing a handful of snaps and videos of the beloved Staffordshire Bull Terrier over the years.

"Rest in power, my dear and sweet friend Tessa," the post on Noon Colman's account reads. “It is a blessing to have known you and I'll forever cherish the moments we spent together as we played. May you enjoy the boundless array of doggy treats and toys as you run for eternity by the ocean side in that sweet place called Heaven. The whole world will miss you. Fly high, Sweet Girl.”

Rest in peace, little Tessa.
